STRAW Updates + Tuklas Evals (c/o STRAW-Sec) - 5 min
Discussed the following grievances with Ma’am Magno.
Econ 162
Just updated Ma'am Magno on what happened. I'll be asking for updates na lang through Emman, thanks!
NSTP
They were able to have a dialogue na so their concerns kinda changed na depending on what was discussed between students.
Dean Memo - c/o Kraft
Sent by Andi to the batches. Matagal na 'to nangyari, Ma'am Magno did not update us lang but that's fine as long as the memo was sent to the faculty.

Mental Health Issue
Ma'am Magno says that a lot of adjustments have already been made to make the load lighter for students. She recommends not pursuing units more than 12.
There are still obviously a lot of grievances that are because of the very nature of the conduct of courses in the online sem. We thank admin for their adjustments, but there really is still a lot to be done. SESC remains proactive and ready to raise any grievance to the admin for further action. We will also continue having these dialogues with them for better coordination with our faculty regarding the limitations of the students given the new setup.

BA 99.2
I have already raised this grievance to Ma’am Magno. For transparency, this grievance is about the exam protocols of the said class. Admin has already expressed their intent to help out, and I am already talking to the person who sent the grievance.

Tuklas
Strengths
  • We started early in preparing for the online initiative.
  • Not stressful on the core members because of the paced preparation of the initiative.
  • The ones who accepted our proposals were very responsive.

Weaknesses
  • Short number of partners in comparison to last sem (a lot of rejections). The situation seems to not be improving, a lot of these organizations have already been tapped out.
  • Technical issues kasi there were some partners who sent us files that were difficult to manage because of the huge file size.

Opportunities
  • Especially now, the need for giving different advocacy groups platforms to reach UPSE remains all the more important. The state of the nation seems to not really improve to the extent we had hoped it would, hence there more and more groups are forming to address new issues.

Threats
  • Worsening situation, orgs find it harder to accept proposals (usually these are also students)
  • Donor fatigue

Andi: Congrats Third. I know konti yung partners compared to last sem but you still did great. Good job!

SEEB Updates
  • Last night we were able to release the official list of candidates. Pubs are doing well. We plan to post another tonight. It is still about official candidates but with GPOAs and CVs
  • Starting campaign period, we have to talk about the rules and will make announcements for that as well.
  • We have four candidates. One chair and two councilors. We met yesterday and talked about amendments of the code.
  • Pinakita yung rules about the campaign. The platform of how the voting was explained.
Mario: Did they give an update on physical ballots? May system na ba for it?

Emman: Yes, may system na. Magsign up ka with a Google Form and instructions about campaign materials and mailing will be given. Most UP students have access naman to their UP Mails. Screenshotting and sharing of ballots are not allowed.

Jaro: Waivers?

Shin: Mario and I will plan to release Waivers tomorrow morning for support. The campaign period will start at 8am tomorrow. Update lang namin after this meeting.

Andi: Just for transparency, everyone has to say the disclaimer that your views do not represent that of the SESC.

Emman: For clarification lang, pwede bang mag share ng whole album of candidates?

Mario: If you don’t sign the waiver, do not share individual posters of candidates.

Shin: Please wait for our approval before signing the waiver.

Ate Yolly Updates + Consti Rev Updates (c/o Chair) - 5 min
  • Ate Yolly will be buried this Friday so please continue to pray for her.

Donation Drive
  • Total donation since the start is 100,635 Pesos. I have 39k right now because Tita told me to hold until she gives me the go signal. Will let Kyla and Haqq know until we can announce it. I am glad we were able to give something to her.

Consti Rev
  • We had our first meeting nung Monday. We had approximately 26 suggestions. We were able to go through 8 of them. The goal is to finish everything by the next meeting.

Grad Talk (c/o SeBreps) - 5 min
  • For our speakers, we have secured 4 out of 5. We are missing a Dev Econ Master Speaker. We are pressed for time because we already requested M&P to post tomorrow. Either we find a speaker or we take out Dev Econ.
  • Incomplete pa yung incentives. We’re still waiting on some professors.

Speakers as of now:
Josh Quimbo - UP Law
Jackie Commendador - UP IE  Masters
JC Punongbayan - UP Econ PhD Candidate
Monica Melchor - UP Econ Masters Graduate

  • Sensing is good from each batch.
  • Official announcement of the event will be tomorrow

Andi: Mario, yung contact natin with grad students are unofficial right. Can we contact any if they’re g?

Mario: Let’s see.

Shin: Let me know nalang mario!

Cami: Did you email Mendoza?

Shin: Yes, we will wait for her reply.

Andi: Good job with the incentives. Diba you mentioned Ma’am Kraft wanted to talk?

Shin: As of this morning, 3 over five speakers lang kami. I asked Maam Kraft but wala siyang reply until now. I also asked sir Jantoc if we can expand to Econ opportunities abroad, pero wala ring reply.

Partnership Proposals (c/o WaM) - 10 min
Partnerships
UP Medchoir Year
  • Annual year end  virtual concert on June 26 and 27.
  • Accepted - Package 2

Organizational Development for the Youth
  • Pass

Donation Drive
  • Wala pa tayong narereceive ulit na additional donations since the pub. Even with the BRA and what happened with Ate Yolly gets naman. Hopefully this week, BRA can remind their batch groups ulit. Pa remind nalang sa constituents.

Summer Bazaar
  • Finding partners is hard compared to first sem. Rest assured, everyday I ask my team mates for updates!

Opportunity portal - my team is monitoring possible partnerships for students.

E-Store - No orders so far. We plan to make a Shoppee page. Technicalities nalang. Rest assured, once this sem ends we can transition to Shoppee.

Other Matters - 10 min
Steph: Regarding Haraya, wala naman masyadong updates because of the service contract, five still haven't sent anything back with regards to layouts and templates. Still finishing collections of payments from Seniors.

Andi: What will we do with batch funds?

Shin: Honestly, me and EJ have to talk about it pa pero as of now it's either spending it on social welfare initiatives or grad initiatives. There’s also a possibility we can subsidize yearbooks.

Emman: Question ko lang. If anyone remembers, kailan yung next no pub week? Update from EdRes, may dalawang Econcepts and will be posted next week. We spent 400 php on tutorials. Meron tayong ED na plan, pero hindi na feasible. We’re working now on ano pwedeng ipalit.

Andi: June 11 until the 18th yung no pub week.
