Summary of the Meeting:
- GA Tidbits
- International: Court charges two women with King Jom-nam murder
- Local: The four LP senators were removed from committee headships
- UP: Tams claims solo third, sweep Maroons
- Other: It's official: Sarah G returns to "The Voice"
- Fin Updates
- Joel: For the Moshi Manju fridays, okay lang bang bigyan ko kayo ng quota na one box per Councilor?
- Consensus: Yes
- Joel: Yun lang naman ang updates, basta consistent lang yung fundraisers natin.
- Jem: How are we doing in terms of our budget?
- Joel: I'll create a powerpoint na lang for this next week.
- Carlos: By the way, Sidhi said that they'll be needing their money na from us because they'll be collaborating with another publication.
- Joel: For the Moshi Manju fridays, okay lang bang bigyan ko kayo ng quota na one box per Councilor?
- Magna Carta Updates
- Jem: Later, magkakaroon ng Diliman Rights GA at 5. So far, ang nangyari since last week ay nag-release sila ng pubs. The official campaign title is the Make It Right campaign. Pagkakaalam ko, open to all naman yung GA na yun. Yun lang naman. What we have in store as part of the PR arm is that we're planning to release stories of students' rights violations, and in that same release, we'll cite provisions in the Magna Carta that could have had prevented those violations. I'll update you guys again next week. Wala pa namang updates from other departments, but there are planned IGPs for this, mainly shirts lang.
- EdRes Updates
- Jem: We have a Free Market article na, which is about the concept of eliminating poverty thru prosperity. By this weekend, we're gonna release Econcepts na. The latter will be released a few days after the Free Market article. For Kapekonomiya, may main pub na kami, which was made by an ETC member. As of the moment, we have a partnership na with the PANTAY Alliance. Sa Marketing, wala pa kaming corporate sponsors, but meron naman kaming media sponsors. For speakers, wala pang nag-rerespond na big name speakers. We'll update you na lang about it. For the venue, hindi pa nagre-respond si Tita Judy about it. Tomorrow, we'll have tutorials for Econ 106 Navarro. Wala kaming makitang Econ 141 Clarete tutors.
- Econ Week Updates
- Paje: With the pub and promos, our first pub is March 6. It's a teaser pub. On Monday also, we'll have an Econ Week photoshoot 11:30 onwards, hopefully sa SE 111. We have a photographer na and complete yung equipment. We just need someone to do slight makeup for the models. We're gonna get models from ETC, Ecosoc, and OBEM. Our concept is pastel backgrounds with props and all. I'm gonna make a spreadsheet with all our needs, like birthday cake etc. tapos input na lang. We're three weeks to Econ Week.
- Kiss: For sponsors, nag okay na yung Red Bull and Tanduay. The latter one was willing to give one booth of free-flowing drinks with models, but they want product lock-out for hard liquor.
- Paje: So ang problem namin now is the venue. Ang pinagdedecide namin ay yung subdivision ni Howie and Place One.
- *Cabaero arrives 5:06 PM*
- Paje: As it stands now, we have a museum visit on Monday, Kapekonomiya on Thursday, Game Theory is Friday, so Lem, available lang is Wednesday for Alay sa Personnel. For the batchreps pala, we want na magkaroon ng quota per batch, which is around 40 people.
- Death Penalty DG Evaluations
- Howie: We were able to acquire org partners, but na-disappoint ako sa ginawa ng USC kasi ang usapan sa letter is 3-6, but ang pumunta lang ay dalawa. Tapos dumating pa sila nang late kasi since they agreed naman. Sana nagkaroon sila ng decency to go to the partnership na they agreed to. The first speaker was Atty. Lagman-Sevilla. The first half of her talk was admittedly boring. But eventually when she put down the paper, it became better. Nabawi naman ni Mr. Papa, the second speaker. It was nice and they were synchronized in answering questions sa open forum. We were able to give guide questions for the speakers.
- Carlos: What can we do to ensure our partners go? Kasi parang napansin natin na
- Gabbi: I thought we have raised this before na kukuha tayo ng names and contact details ng people na pupunta beforehand.
- Kiss: What we could do is edit additional requirements na lang sa MOA like what Gabbi said, and that we'd blacklist them if they do that.
- STRAW Concerns
- Howie: So magkakaroon na rin nung infographic sa OCG services. For the medicine kit, naag-order na ako ng additional medicines. Next is yung sa parking guidelines. We'll draft it by Monday. Ang problem ko lang with this is my help regarding enforcement.
- BRA Outreach
- Jackie: For GK enchanted farm, they have a planting program although there’s a fee of Php 970 per head. There are cheaper planting programs although it’s just a tour. Carlos: That’s not an outreach.
- Jackie: We tried to get an orphanage for BRA Outreach. The problem is, they can’t do weekends because they’re booked for the whole month.
- Jackie: Our proposal is to move BRA Outreach into April.
- Jackie: The orphanage has free weekends on April. Tin: How about Mondays? Jackie: I’m okay with it although I have classes on Mondays.
- Miguel: You can move it to March 18. It’s to start Econ Week.
- Kiss: I can give you another contact – Guide Foundation.
- Carlos: Let’s ask OBEM and ETC if they’ll push through with their events. Pat: Ecosoc might have an ACDC on Saturday, although they might have it in the afternoon. Carlos: Let’s inform them also.
- Jackie: We might go for March 18, Saturday morning. It’s going to be either in Heart at Play or Flyers (?).
- Trina: Room has been reserved. We’ll send out incentive letters this week. Carlos: Send out incentive letters to all professors.
- SEEB Reminders
- Kiss: We released the pub for sign-ups for SEEB sectoral representatives. Just answer the form, we need sophomores and juniors. We need to finalize the list tonight so we can finalize the partial list of names by tomorrow night and we can release it in case there are conflicts.
- Carlos: When will the pub on the requirements to run be released? Kiss: Sunday. March 6 to 10 is the week of filing. March 10 is the deadline for filing.
- Friendship Week c/o Pat
- Pat: We’ll have it next week! I’m sending Tin the pub details and request later.
- Pat: Tuesday is karaoke day, we’re borrowing the TV of Earl and we have a magic sing at home.
- Pat: Wednesday will be movie day. Movies will be played in the tambayan area. I’ll try to download movies for it.
- Pat: Thursday is a DG decon, I remember last week we agreed that we’ll have one.
- Pat: Friday, orgs will sell food in the tambayan!
- Other Matters
- Josh: DebSoc wants to partner with us for an event. Kiss: Tell them to send a letter.
- Aaron: We’ll have Thesis seminar next week.
- Howie: I don’t know who owns the stuff above the lockers. Admin will have it removed by Friday.
- Miguel: We’ll have barkada performances on Game Theory
- Kiss: I already declined the fund run given that we don’t have enough manpower, but they asked help recently to organize an event this March. They’re really pushing for it, they’re willing to organize it on March or April. It’s a run for environmental protection. Sir Arcenas is part of their board. I just want to know if it’s on April, do you still want to push through with it? They want to do it in BGC.
- Carlos: How is the alumni situation? Kiss: They already have the board of members and their positions. Tita Ronee is still president.
