BRA Outreach Updates (c/o BRA & Ways and Means) - 5 min
JC: We’ll be posting testimonials na nakuha namin from the recipients. We’ll be adding ‘yong budget update na rin sa mga ipo-post. Next week mayroon ring new batch ng testimonials na ipo-post sa Facebook.

Jaro: Right now, we have 23k pesos. As I said before, talagang mabagal 'yung progress natin primarily because maraming donation drives centering on helping our brothers and sisters affected by the climate and health crisis we are facing now. Rest assured that in behalf of the BRA and Ways and Means team, we are exerting all our effort para naman maka-attract pa tayo ng donations. We’ll be giving Dove and cash donations. We’ll assess it if end of the month or beginning of January na kasi siyempre hindi naman tayo makakapunta doon kung naka-bakasyin mga personnel.

Andi: I wanted to ask lang, will you release a call for donations again? Or update pub?

Jaro: For that, we will be posting a new post for the testimonials and naniniwala kamina through these posts maaalala ng general public na we have that initiative to help out our UP employees.

Andi: JC, were you able to contact BCO?

JC: I tried contacting ‘yong binigay sa akin ni Third pero walang sumasagot sa mga tawag ko. I was able to contact naman ‘yong mga jeepney drivers na hindi nakakapagtrabaho kasi walang mga students sa campus.

STRAW Updates (c/o STRAW-Sec) - 10 min
Third: Okay, first things first, STRAW grievances, I just checked kanina before this GA and wala namang new grievances. So again, Dear STRAW is open 24/7 and reiterate ko lang na hindi naman kailangan na malalang grievances na. Kahit gaano ka-small ‘yan, Dear STRAW is open to it naman kasi it’s by raising it to STRAW that you can assess rin what actions steps to take and whether or not it’s really small talaga.

Next, we had a dialogue with Ma’am Toby Monsod last Monday. Here are some takeaways lang for those who were not in the zoom meeting and for the student body.

  • It’s good that we’re writing petition letters to professors. Ma’am Toby said rin na for concerns, it’s better to have something in writing just to make sure that there’s kind of this solid evidence na you’ve contacted the professor.
  • We also asked about the EWA kasi Gia asked about whether or not the EWA will still be assessed. She put it in the context of the Junior rule and said na technically it’s suspended for the sem because the EWA gets assessed lang naman talaga after the second sem of the sophie year because that’s when you have the final pre-junior year EWA and GWA.
  • Another thing raised by Mitch is about minoring. Ma’am Toby said na there’s a handbook containing the  so need ng proposal letter I’ll ask admin kung ano specific detail na need for it.
  • I’ve also raised a concern about crammed topics for the finals, like for example sa Econ 141, the cover to cover parin ‘yong coverage ng exam even though some topics weren’t discussed that much because of the suspensions. With regards to this, Ma’am Toby said na they cut the syllabus na talaga before the sem and we can’t really tell profs what to teach and what not to.
  • We also raised issues regarding synch exams. She said lang na because of the nature of economics as a field, it’s hard to get rid of synch exams talaga. Although we understood this naman, we raised rin that synch exams in UPSE are particularly hard because of the protocols like 2 gadgets needed. Ma’am Toby merely said that generally, the student body has two available gadgets naman. Any issues with this protocol should be a case to case basis na.
  • They’re going to make protocols more manageable by coordinating with TAs. Less number of students per TA.
  • On the Exams of other students outside UPSE na may issues regarding synch exams on weekends, ino-note na lang raw pero she kind of tied back into the fact na need talaga ng synch exams.

So that’s the main points of discussion. Again, no grievances as per Dear STRAW but please BRA, utilize Dear STRAW. Napansin ko rin kasi na may mga grievances na rinaise lang sa ECONsult pero wala sa Dear STRAW forms.

Jaro: Raise ko lang na maymga students na patong-patong ‘yong exams this September 16-18 kaya let’s be there for them kahit mga small initiatives lang sana from the batch reps.

Haraya Updates (c/o SeBreps) - 5 min
Shin: We were able to successfully collect all the accomplished forms from everyone who said yes to the gradshoot sensing. We are going to be releasing the sensing dates tonight. From the initial dates that we said last meeting, we’re also planning to include na rin January 8-9 as the tentative schedule for the gradshoot.

EJ: Payment collection period will be determined by the gradshoot dates. Based on the polls, we’re going to open BPI account para lahat ng payment can be transferred there. Yearbook committee group chat for the role of assigning positions. Lastly, I also reached out to Davin that if we are able to get BA may discount na rin sa atin. I reached out na rin to the people I know na seniors.

Lantern Parade Evals (c/o Econ Rep & M&P) - 5 min
Mario: Nag-SWOT analysis kami:
Strengths
-          We had a lot of manpower from the core.
-          We had the support of the admin.

Kyla: Weaknesses
-          Time constraints naming given that we wanted to animate. We started conceptualization and actual editing two weeks before the deadline we weren’t able to edit something animated or outsourced kasi we lacked the time to plan for it and mismong editing process.
-          Constraints sa time limit ng video. We feel that it constraints kung ano gusto naming iparating sa video namin.
-          The Guidelines were very unclear and limiting. ‘Yong mechanics sa projections and dimensions weren't really listed. We were waiting pa for the admin to reply to our inquiries.

Mario: Mabagal rin ‘yong response ng admin

Haqq: Opportunities
-          We would use the video as a substitute na rin sa initiative naming na video series. Ipo-post siya sa council page.
-          We could have given na to the core members like one core member will do one scene. That would have been a great subject and workshop for Premier Pro.

Mario: Threats
-          In terms of quality na lang rin, given the time constraints their medium could be better fit.

Andi: When is lantern parade? When are they going to release the videos?

Mario: December 18. Hindi nila spinecify kasi they gave a lot of dates for the program pa. I’ll double check.

Andi: I super love how you wanted to use that video sa video series niyo para hindi na rin kayo ma-stress and ‘yong core niy. Super proud sa end product.

Electives 101 Evals (c/o FBreps + SoBreps) - 5 min
Cami: To recap lang what happened for Electives 101, we released pubs for two consecutive weekends. Nag-SWOT analysis kaming batch reps.

Strengths:
-          It’s good that we had time to sense what electives we wanted to cover.
-          We were able to sense what the batches wanted and gave them options if they wanted to have it synchronous or asynchronous na lang.
-          We were able to use google forms for the Q and A. We still have the forms up if ever they have questions for the speakers.
-          M&P was also quick to respond to our requests. Especially since we had to change it talaga.

Weaknesses:
-          Communciation was kind of slow pero it’s understandable because of the typhoon.
-          We were unable to hold live meetings wherein people can ask directly unlike last year.
-          Medyo rushed rin ‘yong pub formats kasi we had to change everything within a span of a week.

Opportunities:
-          Maybe we can find more speakers kasi we had to change some electives
-          Hopefully we can accommodate more electives
-          We can have more interactive posts or teasers so we can find ways for the people to interact with the posts.

Threats
-          We had to change everything because of the calamities
-          Online setup made it harder to be interactive as usual

Andi: Good job guys! Especially since you had to change everything agad.

Online Bazaar Updates + Partnership Proposals (c/o Ways & Means) - 10 min
Jaro: Please share ‘yong day 3 post. Before the bazaar updates, wala naman tayong natanggap na partnership proposals.
Bazaar Updates

I’m very happy to tell you that we earned 8k pesos. We will just have to meet the responsibilities we promised sa ating partners. We were able to acquire 14 partners for this. We will be posting pubs from December 7 to 18. Thank you to M&P sa paga-allot ng schedule ko everyday. I’m scheduled 6 PM everyday. Nagkaroon ako ng little issue with Kaizen kasi I didn’t want to be in trouble kasi that name is under Ecosoc. I contacted Gab, Vina, Nics, Ana, from UP Ecosoc just to make sure na walang magiging issue. Clarification lang na the name na Kaizen is Ecosoc but the page is ours. We changed it to Lumiere. Hindi pa naaprove ng Facebook ‘yong request for name change. Na-coordinate naman na rin siya.

I’d like to thank Emman, Third, Haqq, and Kyla for lending their core members for the fulfillment of partnership duties. Wala pang groupchat for that kasi we’re still coordinating with our partners para once you open the file organized na lahat lalo na para sa core members natin. Especially since maraming gagawin, prone siya sa confusion. I’m closely coordinating with my teammates para maayos na siya. I’ve instructed them na sana okay na siya by Friday night para okay na siya by weekends and you can finish the responsibilities na by the weekend.

Yong target naming for that initiative was 5-10k and na-meet naman natin ‘yong target natin Mayroon pa kaming mga kausap so baka madagadagan pa ‘yong partners. Everything is noted naman. My team is very happy and this is their success. I’m just coordinating with them and the credit should be theirs.

GASC Reminders + Christmas Party Calendaring (c/o Chairperson) - 10 min
Andi: There’s going to be a GASC on January 11-12. For those who aren’t aware, it’s the general assembly of student councils. All the student councils not just within UP Diliman will attend the event. That’s where we sit down and discuss which campaigns are we for or against. We usually nominate student regents sa first sem, and since nagka-holdover term and everything, we’re going to have it sa second sem.

Mario is going on one of the dates. We have two remaining slots. I can go rin. Emman is g to go rin raw. Mario can only go one day. So Jaro if ever baka you can go sa first day na lang.

Christmas Calendaring:
First I want to ask you guys if g kayo mag-secret santa. Pick a name and may wishlist ‘yong person. And you have to pick from their wishlist and have it delivered to their house na. Whoever you pick you have to send it directly to them. If g, thumbs up lang kayo. Anong minimum amount natin?

Mitch: Baka okay na ‘yong 200-500 pesos?

Jaro: Will it be weekly or one time lang?

Mitch: One time lang. How about 350 to 500?

Third: Kasama na ba shipping fee?

Jaro: Hindi na.

Andi: 300 - 500. Is everyone okay with that? We’ll figure out na lang how to do the secret santa online. And then, what date do you guys want for the Christmas party?

Mitch: How about December 30 na lang kasi holiday?

Andi: Sabi ni Jaro 21, it’s a Monday.

Jaro: Baka it’s better kasi if before Christmas.

Mitch: Sana by next next week. How about 23 night?

Third: May finals ako 23/24.

Andi: How about 22?

Third: Pwede naman as long as hindi finals dates.

Andi: Okay so it’s decided then. December 22, christmas party. Next thing to discuss. How hectic is your week next week? We’re thinking kasi if we should hold another GA or if this is our last GA na for the sem. Anyway, BRA outreach updates and online bazaar evals na lang rin naman ‘yong need natin.

Mitch: GC na lang siguro ‘yong mga updates.

Other Matters - 10 min
Naisip ko ngayon baka pwede tayong magka-initiative for our staff. From our funds if kaya, what do you think guys?

Jaro: I’ll coordinate with you Mitch and magtatanong rin ako sa Batch rep alliance kanila JC.

Mitch: Thank you Jaro and buti na lang hindi sila natanggal.

Andi: Thank you for asking, Mitch!

Mario: Can we answer ‘yong poll? Univ wide delibs for the SR. Normally before GASC, may ie-endorse ‘yong Diliman. Sana maka-comment tayo.

Andi: Everyone has to answer the poll or only the people who will attend? Baka we can have one lang from us to vote.

Third: SET don’t forget to answer!
