  • Summary of the Meeting:
  • GA Tidbits
    • World news: Trump is new US president
    • Local: Marcos can now be buried in Libingan ng mga Bayani
    • UP: Duterte will endorse one of the UP President candidates
    • LOL: Mocha Uson has a column in Philippine Star called "Hot Spot"

  •  Lantern Parade
    • Earl: Since na-extend yung deadline, sure naman na merong makakapagpass ng design for lantern. For incentive letters, pahingi na lang kami ng list ng lahat ng profs. Also, we're gonna meet with Sir Oggie next Friday para ma-present naman yung design.
  • Magna Carta updates
    • Carlos: We had a meeting with LSG last night.
    • Chito: LSG is lobbying for Magna Carta now. Naka-usap na nila yung offices and now naghahanap sila ng support from admin to lobby this. Plano ng LSG na gumawa ng Magna Carta alliance made up of student councils na gustong mag-support nito. This will be project-based. Sa first meeting ididiscuss yung mga projects tapos ia-assign sa mga student councils. They plan to launch it ng January 12, which is the anniversary of the Magna Carta referendum. One of the projects they brought up was college primers and also they want to re-brand the Magna Carta into something serious. They also plan to train speakers and create modules for proper info dissemination.
    • Carlos: For Lantern Parade, they are asking if we can bring something around regarding our support for Magna Carta. Also , the Magna Carta DG will be on the 29.
    • Chito: Also, yung surey pala dapat mangyari between November 29 and the Lantern Parade.
    • Carlos: If in the future we decide to join this, we should consider making an adhoc committee for this.
*Guingon arrives 4:39 pm*
  • BRA Outreach
    • Trina: First of all, thank you the batch reps, esp. to the freshies, because freshies yung maraming nag-volunteer nung maraming nag-back out na juniors for TAJA. For logistics, I think we had a hard time since first time namin pumunta doon.
    • Jackie: Also dapat nag site visit kami beforehand para alam namin yung place and masabi rin sa mga tao kung ano yun gagawin doon.
    • Trina: Super malaking tulong yung Habitat since they made everything so easy, though hindi naman na-estimate kung ilang people to prepare for.
    • Jackie: When it comes to the food, sumobra yung food and yung freebies but the good thing is that binigay na lang namin sa kanila, since outreach naman yun. For programs, siguro more preparation like sa presentation, since hindi namin na-coordinate sa Habitat nang maayos.
    • Trina: Buti na lang na hindi rin tayo nag-build since sobrang init, and that nagkaroon tayo ng DG instead with the mommies.
    • Bets: Actually, super sakto lang yung place for the number of people the pumunta.
    • Carlos: Comments?
      • Pat: I like the event. Siguro for next time, I think we can give guide questions for the participants since parang hirap lahat sa paginterview. Like things we can talk about since that will be helpful.
      • Tin: Yung sa CAP, siguro dapat nakausap with SESC
        • Carlos: I think we can coordinate that with SEAC next time.
      • Carlos: Also next batch reps, siguro we can coordinate with the batches para mas maraming makapunta next time.
  • Electives 101 Evaluations
    • Kevin: For strengths, I think sobrang value-adding yung talks, esp. if first time mong mag Electives 101. Also, collective effort rin yung pagkuha ng speakers. For the program, I think kailangan sigurong maging strict doon sa time, since yung iba nag-over sa time. Siguro next time, yung initiatives ng freshies maramdaman namin.
    • Gabbi: Also it's good na na-settle yung logistics a week before. Siguro, sa budget, nakuha ko siya the week before the event para hindi tayo mahuhuli.
    • Kevin: Also medyo malas din since nag-conflict siya sa Marcos talk sa Quezon Hall.
    • Comments
      • Jem: Nag-hold ng final Foodgasm GA for 5:00pm, kaya nahatak yung ibang volunteers na freshies.
      • Paje: I think twelve speakers were a little bit excessive. Siguro next time, we can choose na lang the speakers.
        • Gabbi: We brought up naman the topics to be discussed sa Electives 101, so we thought na okay naman sa GA.
        • Jem: Is it possible to have two Electives 101? I know in terms of finances and logistics mahirap, but then nawawala rin yung attention sa speakers pagdating na sa mga later speakers.
        • Emira: What if magkaroon tayo ng round-robin style na Electives 101?
          • Lem: Mahirap din yun kasi nakakapagod sa part ng speakers.
      • Jackie: Nag-set ba kayo ng guidelines on what they'll present?
      • Pat: Comment lang sa logistics, I don't think that SE 111 was that conducive for talks. Sana ibang rooms na lang, like SE 125.
  • Social Entrepreneurship evaluations
    • Emira: Siguro time-constraint since one hour lang yung reservation. Also, nagkasakit rin yung isang speaker so sobrang siksik ng program if nandoon na siya. Hindi masyadong na-touch yung entrepreneurship since limited lang yung time. Eighty yung nasa attendance, so hindi ko lang alam if dahil sa Ecosoc counts or what.
    • Comments:
      • Jem: I think it's a great stepping stone to lot of follow-ups
      • Aaron: I feel that social entrepreneurship should be one of the advocacies of Council, like we could partner with GK or something.
      • Jackie: Sobrang na-appreciate ko yung talk, esp. with the agricultural part, since meron rin kaming family farms, since I like the idea of them promoting agriculture.
      • Tin: It was a humbling experience for me. Medyo masakit lang rin for me, since ibang nationality pa yung kailangan tumulong sa mga Pilipino. Also, wala ring OBEM noon.
        • Carlos: Siguro next time if we're gonna have something like this, dapat sila yung una nating inuuna since ito talaga yung isa sa mga advocacies nila.
      • Bets: I really like how Fabian tried to relate it to what we do in economics. He really forwarded his point in that no one wanted to go in agriculture, but that it's possible to thrive rin naman.
      • Aaron: I think it was great din to hear the stories of the "kids".
      • Carlos: Siguro for our future events, we can have ample time for repubbing and poster sa labas ng board and the event place. I was also wondering if we can ask students to write their thoughts about it. It would be good rin since we can gather their insights rin.
      • Carlos: Now what can we do to follow-up on that?
        • Jem: The plush toys that they made can also be used for IGPs.
        • Carlos: I was wondering if we can add that to STRAW Fair and let everyone sell their products para maka-help rin tayo. I was also thinking about how we can expand this with SEAC organizations, especially OBEM. This really opens a lot of opportunities for us. I think it would be best if we can draft a list on what we can partner GK with. For the Councilors, I think we can strike while the iron is hot and make the plans and execute them.
        • Paje: What if we host a GK bazaar?
        • Carlos: I think we can talk to Ma'am Kraft about possibly making the hallway as a JSEC kind of thing where orgs can sell their stuff.
  • Student Island Congress
    • Carlos: This congress is open to all student councils, organizations, and publications. This plans to update the students on what is happening within the University. There is a Php600 registration fee per person, good for two-day food arrangements. If you want, you can travel to the Basic Mass Integration in Bulacan. There will also be crafting of a student agenda for President Rodrigo Duterte and the incoming UP President. Also, we are required to give updates on our campaigns as a student council. This will be on November 12 and 13.
    • Howie: Saan diyan yung part na paguusapan ang UP President?
      • Carlos: Sa Discussions, though hindi pa ibinibigay yung specific program ng pangyayari.
    • Carlos: Sinong willing pumunta? I'll be going sa Day One and the half of Day Two.
      • Yes: Chito Balindong and Howie Ronsayro
      • November 12 Only:
      • November 13 Only: Jackie Comendador, though hindi pwede until nighttime.
  • STRAW Updates
    • Howie: For the First-Aid Kit, na-refill na siya.
      • Carlos: Siguro you can give me the letter para maibigay ko sa LCC on Friday.
    • Howie: For Magna Carta ED, Carlos, ibigay ko na lang sayo yung invite letter. As for the partnership letters, pag-hatian na lang natin.
      • Carlos: Siguro you can give me the letter para maibigay ko sa LCC on Friday.
    • Howie: For the donations, Kiss, pa-tanong na lang. For the parking guidelines, tatanungin ko na lang muna si Dea about it. Hindi ko mahanap sa files ng dating SESC. For Mental Health article, I followed-up Aaron Sta. Maria, pero hindi pa siya nag-reply. May email rin pala si Ma'am Kraft about the memo from OSA regarding last week for student activities.
    • Howie: For DearSTRAW, regarding the library noise.
      • "Why not implement a disincentivized system, … where a student can get banned. Please, negative externalities, sana ma-internalize siya."
      • Howie: The library is a public space where everyone is entitled to use it, kaya medyo iffy ako sa idea.
    • Pat: I think pwede nating ibalik yung noisy book kasi nakakatakot talaga.
    • Carlos: I think we could have like psychic costs to prohibit people from being maingay within the library.
  • FIN updates
    • Joel: I'll just like to remind you about our partnership with Ecosoc about Ala + Ala. We have to sell minimum ten tickets.
    • Kiss: Just pay Php150 to me. Carlos: I think we can make a plush toy for the facet of the lantern sa Lantern Parade.
    • Joel: Tomorrow na rin darating yung dri-fit shirts ng Council. Also for GK Plush and Play, what do you think can we do for it?
      • Carlos: I think we can make a plush toy for the facet of the lantern sa Lantern Parade.
    • Joel: For rummages, Je Tomas was asking if he could buy from me the rummageables, since meron silang rummage sale. Babayaran niya ako per piece.
      • Consensus: Clarify with Je Tomas about the terms of it.
    • Joel: For tonight, we'll publish the pubmat for the pre-order ng food. Delivery will be on Friday.
    • Carlos: How is E-Store going?
      • Joel: We just received 10 new orders from the website.
      • Joel: I was thinking if it's possible to make batch shirts for UPSEAA, to create batch shirts for them.
  • Internals Updates
    • Paje: For ConstiRev, paki-follow up na lang yung CAP. Genebe Dy is also one of the ConComm representatives for CAP. Though medyo malabo sila. For freshmen, walang binigay na reps, so wala na talagang slots. We're complete, but then that's really late na.
    • Paje: We were supposed to release yesterday ng Humans of UPSE, but because of what happened with the Supreme Court decision, we moved it to tomorrow Thursday. We'll also release something about Martial Law next week. For Lantern Parade Culminight, we'll have a meeting Monday next week at 11:30. For the pub plan ng Lantern Parade, I'll discuss it with Tin.
  • SAC Updates
    • Earl: Schoolympics tomorrow for basketball. If ever available ang people on Tuesday for volleyball, we'll reserve it there, kasi yun lang yung available time for reservation, from 8 - 10 pm.
    • Carlos: Please update them every step of the development
    • Earl: This Friday also, ire-release rin yung pub for volleyball sign-ups for DilGames. And if you have photos of Italian food, we need five as a council to join the contest for UP Piccola Italia.
  • Plansem Scheduling
    • Consensus: January 14-15 for plansem
