Summary of the Meeting:
- GA Tidbit
- UP News: Annual Oblation Run was held at AS Building
- Local: Duterte encourages foreign businesses to come to the country and compete in the telco industry
- International: Iraq bombing kills at least 80 mostly Iranians Shiites
- LOL: List of films for MMFF has been released, Lily Monteverde expressed her disappointment
- Lantern Parade
- Earl: Nag-meet kami ni Ma'am Kraft last Wednesday and then she liked the design na and approved it. For the incentive letter, tapos na namin gawin. Plan namin is to print out and give each one to Council member to give them to professors during classes. Total of 27 classes in Econ, not including graduate studies. And then,
- Kiss: What we plan on doing is to have the structure made in a metal shop para less trabaho for students. Then by this weekend, we're gonna canvass for the total budget that we have to spend for this lantern.
- Carlos: When do we start this?
- Earl: As soon as we finalize the materials for the lantern itself we'll start na. The work for the base sa likod, kaya naman siguro gawin yun as soon as possible.
- Earl: Yung base, gagawin yan sa likod, and yung ibang parts, maglalagay na lang sa tambayan. After the welding, kailangan na lang is isabit yung lights. Meron ring generator from Econ na working naman.
- Chito: Nabayaran na ba ni Tita Rose?
- Ksiss: Actually kakahingi pa lang ni Tita Rose ng list nung nag-pass so ibibigay ko pa lang.
- Carlos: I think we can ask Noel for other designs that we can put on the car.
- Pat: Are we gonna have another pickup truck during the Lantern Parade for water?
- Earl: We can ask naman other people kung willing silang magpahiram ng pick-up trucks. Pwede ring si Jolo Zagala.
- Tin: For the publicity, next week, we'll start mag-shoot ng DPs, starting on Tuesday. I'm planning to have a DP Shoot pubmat on Monday, siguro 9:00 pm.
- *Andaya arrives 4:59 PM*
- Tin: For the main pubmat, usap na lang kami ni Paje, though wala pa kaming schedule na pwedeng ilabas.
- Paje: Basta the main pub goes out nang December 6 and video pubs on the 7th. DPs on the 5th.
- Carlos: Okay so for the Lantern Parade, first stop is Econ. The second stop is before Quezon Hall. Third is Eduk, then fourth is AS for the second round, after the Quezon Hall performance. Fifth stop is between AS to Econ.
- Carlos: Earl and Emira, you're assigned to lead the cheering for the Lantern parade. We'll also need water to provide water for the titos and titas. We also need a megaphone. Let's get the rubber band next week. Kiss, please check na lang about the process regarding this.
- Internship Systems
- Carlos: I'm trying to enable the batch representatives to have a task under councilors para may feel sila on how it works. You can talk to me and the councilor you're interested in para that way, masystematize natin yung goals natin in helping each other when we can. I hope you choose only one, since may sarili pa rin namang trabaho.
- One Too Many Evaluations
- Jem: We had this ED nung Tuesday. Okay naman siya. Admittedly, points for improvement include that most of the speakers only confirmed the weekend before or the day before. We should also coordinate better with admin regarding payment. I feel lang na next time, dapat we should've found a way to not have overlapping jobs for Ecosoc and Council. Sana we got interesting speakers there. Also, sana mas maraming Council members present, pero sana it could've been better if complete tayo.
- Carlos: Also, sana mas participative tayo when it comes to these events.
- Comments:
- Aaron: Honestly, I think the first speaker gave a good legal perspective about it. I also enjoyed the other two speakers, esp. Sir Arcenas because he really connected it to economics.
- Paje: The first speaker was the best speaker kasi she was the most value adding about it.
- Carlos: Perhaps we can get someone to share their thoughts about it sa Free Market
- Jem: I was talking with Amnesty International about their human rights week for them. I think this is a good initiative.
- Tanggulan Network
- Carlos: We got an invitation from the Break Free network. It's inviting us to join an alliance against impunity and people who are abusing freedom of speech. I'll post the letter na lang later sa Facebook. Please check if you're in-line with everything they are saying. If okay naman, I think it's nice that we're doing this since it really helps our independent branding.
- NYC Evaluations
- Jem: First of all, super thankful to those who came. As in, solid Council. To evaluate the event, this year, I think an improvement was that the speaker roster was so stacked. Them apart from having a really good
program, logistically, using UPSE compared to NIP was a really stepup; it made everything easier. Points for improvement were the way we handled certain issues with schools. There was a certain problem in the first day in that there was a school that they asked NYC BOD if they could leave earlier. Good point was that it was resolved by the next day. NYC has a lot of money. We have 50k from this year, and 50k for this year, so we have around 100k for this year, excluding ex-deals. - Comments:
- Jackie: Siguro maganda rin if may specific task talaga kami kasi may mga times na super idles kami na walang ginagawa. Also sa ex-deals, willing ba kayong magbenta by the pack?
- Jem: May mga deals kasi na hindi pwedeng ibenta eh.
- Jackie: Super commendable rin pala yung food since super overflowing ng food for the teachers.
- Carlos: I think we had more partners this year and the pub was so much better than last year's. I think a lot of new stuff was added and I hope this can be sustained for the years to come.

- Fin Updates
- Joel: Thank you for supporting our IGP. We mean plan to do more para mas malaki ang profit namin. For milk tea, we're gonna continue this for the next weeks. We got 2.5k from NYC. For the bank account, hihingin ko pa yung ibang papers ni Dea.
- Carlos: For E-Store, do we have modifications for it?
- Joel: Tatanungin ko sa South Republik if may sweaters na pwedeng i-customize. Also, pag-uusapan namin yung sa GK na plush toys.
- *Licup leaves 5:36 PM*
- STRAW Updates
- Howie: For the donations, nagbigay si Prof. Calla Wiemer, pero hindi ko pa siya ma-contact. For the Magna Carta ED, pwede bang maglabas ng pub. Nag-send na kami ng partnership proposals. For pub, we'll pub early afternoon on Sunday and re-pub sa gabil. Meron tayong invitation from UP Elohist. They invited us to a volunteer clean-up sa Sitio Pulo, a bird sanctuary. The catch is, it's on a November 27 a Sunday. Batch reps, please brig na lang if ever. Lastly, ipopost na pala yung Mental Health article tomorrow at 9pm.
- EdRes Updates
- Jem: On Monday at 9:00pm, we're gonna release "On The Day He Died". I was hoping na kahit ako nalang gagawa ng pubmat. If Gabbi can write fast enough, isasabay ko sana yung release ng article na yun with the call to submit articles rin. Yun lang naman.
- Carlos: Since part of our campaign is historical revisionism. There's still another one on Wedensday sa Libingan ng mga Bayani. What do you guys think on inviting people to go there?
- Jem: I think we can do that hopefully again to let people know na may gagawin.
- Haraya Updates
- Aaron: For the photo studio, we settled with Photo Media Explosion. So this was the photo studio two years ago. We already schedule the shoot from January 28-30 (SE 111). For Grad Rites, Lean and Nikuo are the heads. Expected date is June 23. And Univ grad is June 25. Downpayments have been collected at Php500 each.
- Emira: For the grad rites, they're waiting for SE 101 na lang for the discounts.
- Aaron: Tentative date for Grad Ball is June 16 or June 27. The heads Ila Pandy and Cara Ignacio. Sel Yao and Dani Gonzales for the grad yearbook. We're still finalizing our print partner.
- Kiss: Magkano pala yung expected na babayran for the grad ball and
yearbook- Emira: Ceiling for grad ball is Php1500.
- Pre-plansem, Christmas Party, Scheduling
- Carlos: Okay, so let's plan for the Christmas Party. So can someone volunteer a house where we can have a Christmas Party? We'll have it after Lantern Parade
- Consensus: Paje's House
