Summary of the Meeting:
1.GA Tidbits (5 mins)
•World: US and allies meet to find a diplomat way to get out of North Korea crisis
•Local: Pitoy Moreno passed away last night due to old age
•UP: The oval’s bike lane has been painted
•Random: Jinky Pacquaio held a grand birthday beach party in Sarangani
2.Lantern Parade Evaluations c/o Je & Cams
•Je: The people appreciated the lantern. The lantern parade was okay but I think there could have been more coordination in making the lantern and registration. We should have placed it in the budget of Council too.
•Howie: A lot of people said it was their favorite lantern among the years. In terms of the hatak and incentives system, do you think it was okay?
•Cams: I think it worked.
•Yana: In giving the incentives, I think some people can cheat it.
•Javi: There should be better incentives for performers.
•Cams: I think it’s nice to look at when there are a lot of people performing.
•Je: Maybe there can be a band and better speakers on the lantern next time. We won’t be getting the same supplier next time since it was expensive. We can use Procincula’s contact next time.
•Cams: It’s better if we space out the prod work and man power is assigned.
•Jackie: When people started playing music, it was nice because even if it was far from the theme, it was fun especially when people started singing along.
•Ian: It was nice to look at that everyone had their own mini lanterns.
•Howie: A lot of people brought it home.
3.Culminight Evaluations c/o Jolo (5 mins)
•Jolo: There was a great turnout from Econ and we even had some alumni guests who were celebrating their jubilee anniversary. The performers were well represented. thank you to Jackie, Kevin and Louise for performing. We had a lot of food so even in the end, we still had some left over.
•Jolo: The weird part was that there was a peak time then a lot left at the same time too so it died down.
•Josh: COmpared to SIKLAB where a lot of people went, there were fewer people this year. There were a lot of Sophies who went but I think we could improve attendance from the pther batches.
•Jackie: I think we should remove the tables next time since it can’t accommodate everyone unlike last year at the bust where people would find their own space.
•Jolo: A lot of people didn’t want to stay in the table but our initial plan was that we’d get people to sit together. From internals, it was our job to be like waiters and make sure that those who wanted to stay at the table would get a table but in the end, the people who wanted to sit down got to.
•Je: Next time, we should invite the admin and staff to Culminight since they have their own Christmas party upstairs.
•Paje: It might be difficult since they have their own party like it’s their own thing.
•Jolo: We got to give staff food
•Ian: I personally liked the layout since the setup was home-y and like one big barkada.
•Howie: Could the tables have been extended?
•Jolo: It was more a matter of we didnt have enough tables and lights and sounds.
•Jackie: The speakers weren’t so nice.
4.Core GA c/o Howie
•Howie: Please add your core to the fb group and make sure you get to invite them to the Core GA. I’ll be the one to request a pub from Joaquin.
5.Org Fair Updates c/o Paje (5 mins)
•Paje: It’ll be next week, Jan 25-26. It’ll be called Camelot: A SEAC Org Fair with a Medieval Twist and we’re going to start it with a skit. I’m only asking for budget for the food.
•Howie: Will we have any themed outfits?
•Paje: I’ll think about it like best costume could win on the second day.
6. 4-Sem Rule Position Paper Updates c/o Ian (5 mins)
•Ian: I’ve edited it based on your comments but I’ll still be asking for help from the technical working group and from you guys when it comes to looking for data and soecific stories to humanize it. I’ve been thinking lately, if we put specific stories, it might be a case-to-case basis.
•Howie: My worry is that if we look for cases, it might delay it or maybe it will be an isolated case.
•Jolo: When it comes to data, do you have any idea what data you’re looking for? What if you open the paper to future studies like it can invite them to compromise and study it when it comes to the numbers like who has passed and not. It’ll then show whether it’s really effective
•Josh: I like the idea of getting stories because at least when they ask further about it, we have something to back it up unlike if we put it in the paper where it becomes an isolated case it might backfire.
7.Econ Rep Updates c/o Ian (5 mins)
•Ian: We already have content for Econcepts so we’re just waiting for the pub.
•Joaquin: It might be an album instead of just
•Ian: BAC has a campaign that calls for financial transparency which is related to practicing the FOI. They’re going to be doing it in partnership with USC Finance, JPIA and ETC. It might be nice to partner with them too.

9.Econ Week Reminders

•Josh: I’ve already posted the assignments, so I’m hoping we could get at least two this week as long as we have progress.
