- Dylan: World News - Corona virus explained: What you need to know. A new Chinese coronavirus, a cousin of the SARS virus, has infected hundreds since the outbreak began in Wuhan, China, in December. Scientist Leo Poon, who first decoded the virus, thinks it likely started in an animal and spread to humans. "What we know is it causes pneumonia and then doesn't respond to antibiotic treatment, which is not surprising, but then in terms of mortality, SARS kills 10% of the individuals," Poon, a virologist at the School of Public Health at The University of Hong Kong, said. - Mario: Local News - Pimentel files resolution to declare Angkas CEO a persona non grata. Senator Aquilino “Koko Pimentel” has filed a resolution on Wednesday seeking to declare Angeline Xiwen Tham, founder and Chief Executive Officer of motorcycle taxi firm Angkas, as a persona non grata for violating ownership law and “bullying” the government. Pimentel’s Senate Resolution 287 sought to probe Tham and her “high-handed, arrogant and irresponsible acts” as a foreign national doing business in the country. The senator mentioned Tham, a Singaporean, and her 99.996% share of Angkas, calling it a “blatant transgression” of the law which states that Filipinos must own 60 percent of public transport companies. UP Diliman School of Economics Dean Orville Solon endorses Balitaktakan: UP Diliman Chancellorship Forum this January 24, Friday. The student-led forum will happen from 1:00 to 4:00PM at the UP School of Statistics Auditorium. All attendees will be excused from their classes, per the Office of the Chancellor. We invite the student body to attend this forum to know more about the plans of our UPD Chancellor candidates. We also encourage everyone to join us on February 3 at Quezon Hall for the BOR Meeting where the UP Diliman Chancellorship will be decided. - Mitch: Random News - James Reid appologizes to Issa and Yassi Pressman. James Reid apologized Wednesday to both Yassi and Issa Pressman, calling the rumors tagging Issa as the third party in his shocking breakup with Nadine Lustre as "messed up." Reid wrote his apology under Yassi's post on Instagram, wherein the actress defended her younger sister from her accusers by saying: "Do not be so quick to point fingers." II. ASEO Updates - Vice-Chairperson
- Regina: Our theme now is tiktok. And since we are focusing on pubs this time around, there’s 3 waves: January 25 (main pub), 26 (all orgs), and 28 (see you tomorrow pub). I will ask you guys lang on the 29th to wear a council shirt. Help lang din to hatak from sophies and freshies kasi event siya. May incentives na food pero kailangan talaga ng hatak. Tapos, yung ASEO plansem 2 clean-up on February 1. So, the ASEO requirement na 2 attendances is back. If you guys go to the plansem, baka 2 counts na yun cause the normal GA is 1 hour. But, I’ll still think about it. Basta the ASEO fair is kinda like electives 101.

- Josh: Also tomorrow, ginather lahat ng head ng ASEO about the smoking and the cleanliness of the tambayan. So org fair, required lahat tayo pumunta and wear your council shirt.
III. Baliktaktakan Partnership Proposal - Chairperson
- Josh: Dapat today, we decide about the partnership pero the pub already went out yesterday. So we’re required 3 attendees and likes and shares sa pub. So, let me know so I can tell Eser na puwede tayong pumartner.
- Je: As partner, we can prepare a question to ask
- Maui: Yeah para we can send it to them na rin.
IV. Finance Updates - Finance
- Mitch: Food fair will be in UP fair week and it will be in UPSE and Sampaguita. We already passed the papers in OSA but we’re about to find out kung puwede 2 food fairs at once. There will be 2-3 food in each venue. Then I also asked about selling water sa waiting shed for those waiting. Next, yung Bazaar sa Technohub, I already grabbed the offer of one concessionaire and it will be from March 2-13. If ever we cancel March, we will take the february 10-21 nalang. And then we get commission as we help them get concessionaires and we already get commission for reserving for them. I secured this na and we will just talk about how the downpayment policy will work so yun.
- Je: Di ba you’re contacting IG shops, baka lang magkaroon ng clash of products.
- Mitch: Pero usually clothes lang yun and food cases.
- Je: baka may magalit kasi sa kanila
- Josh: maybe you can ask for a higher bayad if they want lock-out of the product they’re saying.
- Mitch: Okay, so next Rummage Sale, I was just gonna ask kung saan puwede bahay
- Josh: We can try Ayala Alabang sa house namin dun para malaki kita.
- Mitch: Collecting rummages on January 23-31. It will be 10 per council member
- Maui: I have a concern, kasi dinonate na namin yung stuff sa taal
- Josh: Saluhan nalang tayo.

- Mitch: 3-5 for those who are not fin then for fin 6. Tapos next, new merch line name: Iska Merch, Gawang UP, Glow UP. These are not final yet pero so far we are already contacting suppliers. Then for E*Store, we will count inventory then follow up those who haven’t claimed. And I met na with my core, 21 kami.

- Mitch: UP JFA already gave me the number pero lagi sinasabi niya na busy siya. And ang hirap kasi 50 concessionaires yung hinihingi (yung minimum).
- Josh: Let’s just ask if kaya pero if wala then wala talaga.
V. LCC Updates - Econ. Rep. to the USC
- Je: Okay so una yung sa UPD Chancy updates. What can student councils do daw? So we can read the papers of the candidates, second, we can do standmaking pero di kaya, third, attend the student forum, fourth, there will be a mobilization sa BOR when they choose the chancellor. Another thing is, the BOR still decides in the end and the search committee files a report wherein written doon lahat ng nakikita nila kaya maingay ngayon yung mga student councils and students. Then for the UPD student’s agenda, we had this before wherein the STRAW councilor came and they will just reiterate what they said. And then there was a talk from a news agency (altermedia) and they report news that’s not being reported in mainstream media. They’re proposing that you can partner with them for media coverage and they have a large network. Fifth, yung GASC reols. And lastly, tayo yung maghohost ng next GA, Feb 3 at SE 103, 1-4pm. Binalik na to once a month yung LCC GA so the question is if we should still do the 2 counts?
- Jv: It’s hard kasi what if everyone goes sa econ GA tas wala na sa iba

VI. Kape Updates - EdRes
- Vina: So kumpleto na yung BOD namin so my co-convener is Emman Guiam, Programs is Je, Log is Will, Externals is Roen, PPP si Denise, and for marketing Pat Del.
- Josh: If director kailangan magpaalam ah.
- Vina: So we will meet tomorrow regarding the theme and calendaring. Yung problem kasi mahirap magpagalaw ng people from ETC for Kape. So, I’m hoping that council can be proactive about Kape and we really need to revamp this. Of course I promise that I will commit to this and the date is Feb 27 cos its on a Thursday. I am highly encouraging everyone to join the OB. And I was suggesting to open it to the whole UPSE. It is very minimal work although the programs is pure ETC.

VII. R-Seminar Updates - Junior Batch Representatives
- Shin: For the R-seminar, it’s not stata anymore cause sir Jandoc uses R. Our tentative date is Feb 5 or 7 aand we need to sense pa sa GC.
- Mario: We will reach out to Francis Edrinal.
- Reg: He was sir Jandoc’s substitute for 132 so kaya
- Shin: We’re just concerned with the dates kasi its puro kapa
- Mario: Yeah and they were free cut for almost a week so we need to adjust again if ever
- Maui: Baka you can include 132 since they need to use R
- Shin: Goal namin yun kasi kasama seniors dun
VIII. Core Team Building Updates - Chairperson
- Josh: I have tentative dates for core team building and you guys have to join the games and Reg and Je will help me coordinate. Then reminder sa lahat, this Sunday yung deadline ng listahan ng core. So please complete your core na
