OBEM will have a quiz bee on Wednesday. On Thursday, there will be ACLE in the afternoon. On Friday, UPIC will be having a cryptocurrency dialogue from 4:30-6pm and Game Theory will be at night. •Jolo: For the Batch Reps, there will be a GA fro Econ week. At least one batch rep per batch has to go.
4.Magna Carta Lobbying Updates c/o Josh (5 mins)
•Josh: I got to secure Ma’am Kraft along with Sir Arcenas and Ma’am Magno on Wednesday at 1pm. De Dios will be on the same day at 3pm. Ma’am Gonzales was rescheduled to Thursday, 3pm. Hopefully, Je and Ian, you can secure Ma’am Abrenica. I’ll try to secure another meeting with Dean Solon.
•Ian: Can I leave a letter for Ma’am Abrenica?
•Josh: Yes.
•Howie: Ask someone from DRW to go with you to the Wednesday 1pm meeting.
•Howie: Sir Capuno is sure since we got to talk to him awhile ago and he said he wants the best interest of the students.
•Howie: The 4-Sem Rule position paper has been given to Ma’am Abrenica already.
•Kevin: Aren’t we going to renew the stand from last year?
•Howie: How will that go?
•Kevin: The discussion basically about the Magna Carta.
•Howie: I don’t think Standmaking is the word but rather a review or workshop. I can prepare the materials so we know what to say during the meetings.
5.DilGames Updates c/o Je (5 mins)
•Je: I’ve made a group already then we’re taking the pictures next sem. If there are still people who you know can play, let me know.
•Howie: For Futsal, maximum players increased from 7 to 15. Engg proposed maximum basketball players from 15 to 20. Deadline for lineups is January 26. Basketball games will be on Saturday, 1-4pm. Volleyball on Thursdays, 6-7pm and Saturdays, 5-6pm. Futsal games on Mondays, 1-4pm.
•Je: Can I require SESC to attend at least 3 games?
•Howie: Yes. Also, please pub each game.
•Je: We’re okay in terms of lineups. We just need people to watch and more people for Women’s Basketball.
6.E*Merch Updates c/o Kevin (5 mins)
•Kevin: We have a booth tomorrow and on Thursday. Basically, we’re liquidating whatever is left.
•Howie: How much do you expect to get?
•Kevin: Around 3-5k.
•Joaquin: We’re starting the new designs once the E*Merch are finished.
•Howie: Please share in batch groups when Kevin shares the pub.
7.STRAW Updates c/o Josh (7 mins)
•Josh: The letter for the librarian is done. Instead of banning people, they’ll just be asked to leave. If you have anymore suggestions let me know.
•Josh: We have new Dear STRAWs. The first is asking if we can not close the Lounge since the water fountain is there.
•Howie: It’s usually closed at 5pm since overtime is anytime past that.
•Ian: Can you also ask if grad students can use the Lounge to study?
•Howie: You can bring it up with Ma’am Kraft.
•Josh: The next concern is about the bathrooms and how the floor is usually muddy. I plan to talk to the staff if they could more regularly clean the bathroom if not, I’m g to do it myself.
•Josh: The service road concern was brought up, but Danicon has already given his word that it won’t be pushing through.
•Josh: The next concern is about the library staff. I’ll try talking to the staff.
•Josh: One complained that the WiFi in the tambayan is weak so their stay is less enjoyable. We can ask the COMPLAB about this.
•Josh: The last is about the lack of Econ subjects.
•Howie: We got to talk about this during Plansem and there is not much we can do now since Registration is over but we can always suggest improvements for the next registration period.
•Josh: We can also try to keep an eye out for the curriculum reform, so the students are aware that such is happening.
•Javi: Whenever I talk to my batchmates about the ESF, a lot of them don’t get to answer it, so we should take measures to make sure they answer it.
•Paje: RVC should be strict in purging those who don’t answer.
•Theresa: They do purge and fix the tagging for ESF, so it’s unfair for those who have priority but didn’t answer since the demand doesn’t reflect when reg comes.
•Ian: What can we do to involve ourselves more in the curriculum reform?
•Theresa: There is a rep from RVC, there can be one from SESC too.
•Howie: As students we should know what’s going on.
•Ian: We don’t have the power to dictate or propose but we can always give our opinions.
8.LCC GA Updates c/o Howie (5 mins)
•Howie: There’s a new google form called SWANS (Students with Additional Needs). TO voice out our complaints, share the form to UPSE groups. GASC was part of the agenda and some explained their change of votes against the live-streaming of the GASC. They’re just hoping that the OSR posts minutes.
9.Other matters
•Je: The yoga pub will be every Wednesday, Php200 for 3 people.
•Louise: Jiwan Tai is looking for an avenue to sell secondhand Econ books. He’s hoping to push for it since there’s an market for one.
•Ian: It can be called “sECONdhand books”
•Howie: It can be a group that the batch reps can share to their respective groups for those who want to be part.
•Bets: Im going to give the consolidated letter for all the events this sem tomorrow, so if you have anymore follow-ups, please let me know.
•Paje: Is it alright if you wait for the SEAC org’s room reservations? There’ll be none for this month and February but I don’t have a consolidated letter for April to May yet.
•Bets: Alright, I’ll split the letter into half for Jan to Feb then March to April.
