- Klause: World News - Colombia will allow hundreds of thousands of Venezuelan Migrants. Colombia will allow hundreds of thousands of Venezuelan migrants to legalize their presence in the country through work permits meant to bring them into the legal economy, the government said on Wednesday. Colombia is the principal destination for Venezuelan migrants fleeing from political, social and economic crisis under the government of President Nicolas Maduro. - Third: Local News - Philippines confirms first case of new coronavirus. The Philippines on Thursday confirmed its first case of the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV). In a press conference, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said a 38-year-old Chinese patient from Wuhan, China, the epicenter of the outbreak, was confirmed to be infected with the virus following a laboratory test in Australia. The woman arrived in Manila via Hong Kong on Jan. 21. She is now in an undisclosed government hospital. The patient came in for a checkup on Jan. 25 after experiencing mild cough, Duque said. II. Chancellor Selection Mob and LCC GA - Chairperson
- Josh: On Monday, we have a 9am mob sa BOR. I won’t require you pero we will have incentives to those who go. Ito yung day na pipili na sila ng chancellor ng UP Diliman. After that may LCC GA (1pm) tayo sa SE 103. Sana lahat pumunta dun cos we are the hosts.
- Je: There’s a chance na if tumagal yung mob baka ma-cancel yung LCC
- Josh: Reminder na once a month nalang yung LCC so please attend to complete your 2 counts.
III. Finance Updates
- Mitch: So Estore, we finished the inventory count and I just wanna ask if we can sell the econ week shirts before.
- Je: Puwede.
- Mitch: Puwedeng isale naman right?
- Josh: Oo basta iliquidate na yan.
- Mitch: sige mga 10 lang naman natira
- Je: Yung iba dun mansyado.
- Mitch: May mga maayos pa pero I can double check. Tapos next week may pub for estore and dun ko din balak ipub yung new merch. So bale, may E*Store x something. Wala pa kasing name na final.
- Josh: yung mitch and match nga.
- Mitch: Ayoko skip muna nga natin. Yung new merch 3: pins, windbreaker, and Bucket hats. We just need to double check how much UP gets out of the merch since it’s UP themed. Yung supplier ng pins and buckethats I have na. Pero for windbreakers, wala pang reply. Then rummages due tomorrow so please give na. Tuloy din yung food fair here in Econ and we have one concessionaire. And we’re waiting for approval for Sampaguita from VCO.
- Shin: you’ll have to approve all of the concessionaires cos you need the health clearance to submit
- Mitch: Yung sa Econ 4 lang yung allowed na concessionaire. And yung concern ng concessionaires yung electricity kasi kinukuha ng isang concessionaire most of it. Anyway, signed na rin yung MOA ng partnership natin with Technohub. The problem is technohub wants the full payment settled kaagad not down payment (like before). They want by Feb 17 full payment na agad so nakikiusap nalang ako. Tapos for the globe tents, I followed up na pero waala pang reply. On going na yung emails ng core ko for the bazaar. Yun lang naman yung updates.
- Je: Yung sa bucket hats, di ba by volume? Paano kung alangaanin yung demand?
- Mitch: Malaki naman yung kita sa pins so if ganun I’ll use the order form muna and then order it.
- Jv: Why don’t you try ordering a bit first instead of too much para if pumatok then you can just order more
- Maui: Or gawin mong “sale” para mas mapabili yung mga tao.
- Vina: you can add tote bags and foldable fans.
- Josh: I have a question, may rummage sale this weekend in alabang. It’s just mitch and I going pero I’m leaving at 11 cos I have a class. We’ll leave here at 6am. Walang puwede sumama? Haraya naman nandun.

IV. Kapekonomiya 2020 Updates - EdRes
- Vina: Since the audi isn’t available on Feb 27 it will be on Feb 26 na. Then, we had our first meeting noong Tuesday and we finalized the theme. Ultimately, hindi na Envi. Econ. Because you need to be really committed to the theme. We can’t use disposable cups for the coffees and the audience would have to bring their own mugs. Considering rin the time limit, mahirap maghanap ng speakers for that topic. So yung final theme ay TNVS: transport network vehicle service. So far yung perspectives, public administration, economic/competition, and business. And Je proposed also urban planning pero to follow pa yung guide questions for that. We will talk about first the problems and the proposed solutions. Tapos, ang official title of Kapekonomiya is Kapekonomiya: In-Transit. Apparently, yung BOD they don’t really want a big team so okay na right now but the problem is Log have 2 members lang so if gusto niyo mag-Log please tell me. Nagsisimula na kami magtrabaho and if may problem I’ll consult it to you guys.
- Maui: What does council usually do?
- Vina: Attend and usher. And wear council shirt. Yung tungkol sa money, 50% galing dapat sa council kasi its also a council event. Pero whatever we get from council plano namin ibalik pero di pa final.
V. UPSurge: DG Decon Updates - EdRes
- Vina: So nagkaroon ng conflict, same na yung theme for the DG Decon and Kape. Pero we can use the DG to market Kape, so it’s gonna be like an introduction to Kape. So my core and I will go around econ, and we will talk about the issues of transportation and proposed solutions from the government. We will advertise Kape during the DG para mas ma-entice sila pumunta.
VI. ASEO Updates - Vice-Chairperson
- Josh: If you guys attend the plansem and the clean-up you guys will have 2 counts for attendance na and if you go sa GA and if minutes ka 2 counts din yun. This is this Saturday. Also may house points yung paglinis ng tambayan. Who can go on Saturday? (Maui, Giselle). If anyone can bigla, please tell reg nalang. Yung sa clean-up ng tambayan

- Shin: The thing is, like we said, mahirap pa rin itansya yung scheduling. We will open up to those 132. So we will separate the r seminars for both 131 and 132. The one for 132 is next week. Zion, ilan seniors dun?

- Shin: Ah okay so tuloy pa rin yung next week na r-seminar for the 132 class.

- Josh: Si Ma’am epetia, siya yung in charge sa event ng Japanese Exchange and they’re going here Feb 11 sa afternoon. I need someone to go with me to tour them around. Who can go? (Shin, Je, Mario, Klause, Vina)
IX. Other Matters
- Jv: Meet the staff pub part 2 is next week please share nalang
- Maui: Open space wants to partner with council they just want to have their logo sa pubs natin and the discount lang if for council. 100 pesos per hour siya pero with discount and 90 pesos per hour and nagiincrease yung discount once nagiincrease yung time.
- Je: Try to negotiate siguro na puwede noncouncil but a certain number of people lang
- Josh: or if puwede noncouncil nalang de okay
- Maui: Sige ill talk to them.
- Vina: Binigay ko 2 weeks ago yung stance natin sa endo and I’m just waiting for her comments and may pub na si Orallo. Nagreplenish na ako ng acad tool box. And may econcepts ako next week.
- Je: Update lang sa USC GA noong 24, first yung may statement na support for Nemenzo. Yung manifestations dun is just about the support for Nemenzo and nothing about the other candidate. Wala naman nagreject ng motion to support Nemenzo. The GA also discussed some finance matters, particularly regarding the USC trust fund. Do you guys have any questions for USC?
