Summary of the Meeting:
  • Lantern Parade and Gpak Eval
    • Earl: Some good points are that all councilors were able to help. A problem was the following up with Noel regarding his schedule, na hindi niya nasabi beforehand.
    • Kiss: I guess another point rin is yung student participation kasi ang dami. Bad point siguro was the lights na hindi raw nakapag-on dahil sa dami ng lights. Also, baka konti na lang yung funds to be given by funds sa next Lantern Parade because of the low funds ng UPEcon.
    • Pat: Parang nagka-confusion rin sa meet-up place kasi naging biglang sa Quezon Hall na lang yung meet-up there, and it was confusing sa mga taong na-late ng slight kasi they had to find their place on their own.
      • Carlos: May minention ba sila about it sa letter?
      • Earl/Kiss: Wala
    • Pat: Siguro yun na rin yung naging cause ng kulang ng first rubber band kasi by the time they got there, tapos na magbigay
    • Jackie: Let's also have a consistency plan regarding technical parts nung song kasi hindi naman nila nakuha yung sinend natin
    • Carlos: Siguro we can tell the people that will be in-charge of this na agahan yung preparation natin
    • Jem: I just wanna say na sobrang okay ng dp natin compared to other colleges
    • Tin: Negative points, nahirapan akong mag-edit ng DP. And ang daming people na nagpapaulit kumuha ng picture.
      • Carlos: Siguro in the future, we can just make them choose one or two final pictures for the dp. Also, let's ensure na yung Core niyo is also working para matalungan nila kayo for your job.
    • Miguel: It was a little stressful kasi nawalan ng performers ng last-minute, tapos biglang pwede pala. I think another point was that nakulangan tayo sa food, kasi we expected fewer people.
    • Carlos: How was the merch?
      • Joel: Parang wala masyado.
      • Kiss: In-explain na kung bakit konti lang ang alumni kasi ang daming commitments nila non, because of Christmas parties.
      • Chito: Siguro for our merch, wag lang tayo mag-focus sa alumni.
      • Carlos: I think this was a further push to improve our alumni relations
    • Carlos: Overall, there was that snag na the Lantern didn't work, but in the end, I think that's just part of the things that we cannot control anymore. I think the Gpak went well, and I think the promotions were very spot on this year, with a lot of people coming. And I was happy with the council having the time to help out in their capacity. Let's give the heads and everyone a round of applause

  • SAC Presentation
    • Earl: So this is the same like what is shown in PlanSem. My first plan is a Hike, which will serve as an event for UPSE students to experience thinking as a different form of exercise/leisure activity and to promote the appreciation of the natural beauty of our country, in partnership with Tin (for Media and Pub). My preferred place is Mt. Daraitan + Tinipak River. It's a nice space kasi after climbing the mountain, you can go to the river to swim. Next is the Fundacion Sanso Museum Trip, which is an event that aims to promote the appreciation of the artworks of Juvenal Sanso which tells stories about his experiences in war; in partnership sana 'to with Kiss kasi maraming alumni na palaging pumupunta dito. For the budget proposal, we just need money for Schoolympics.
    • Carlos: Can you specify the breakdown in the Schoolympics budget?
      • Earl: The court is Php20,000 for the entire day. The referees is a minimum of Php500. A minimum of six games per sport. Lights and sounds for street dance is Php3000+. The other games are like pakulo lang. So may water, tokens for the judges.
        Estimated total is Php28,000+
    • Earl: Yung gusto ko palang mangyari with futsal eliminations' 9am-2pm any Monday, in LGV.
    • Carlos: Siguro, we can poll the teams kung kailan sila pwede para alam natin yung dates most available sila. Batch reps, please make your batch mates choose a date in April, either 22 or 23, for Schoolympics final.
    • Earl: Also for the booksharing thing, can we do just a little booth na lang for it? I also plan to post an article about the sneaker culture and the economics of it.

  • M&P Presentation
Strengths, include strict use of the pub requests; weaknesses include na inefficient yung Core and the documentation problems, na minsan nakakalimutan yung camera or walang nagt-Tweet; opportunities include online presence. Earliest time for website relaunch is this Saturday at 9pm. For the website, my core member assigned is Kaia tapos for the bulletin board, si Nika Espiritu. Three days are needed before anything can be posted sa website.

  • Fin budgeting & IGP Scheme
    • Joel: We have a total Php44,782 of money for this sem, net inflow of cash. This comes from Council fees, locker fees, and Moshi Manju profit.
    • Joel: I plan to increase the likes of the E*Store page before releasing pub. I'm coordinating with Tin.
    • Carlos: Have you discussed the E*Store aesthetic na?
      • Tin: We haven't talked yet but we'll take that into consideration.
    • Joel: For fundraisers, Paje and I will be talking about the Valentine's Day fundraisers. We have something set for next week, we just haven't decided yet but we plan on selling food again. Do you have any ideas on what to sell? Carlos: Maybe we can sell red velvet crinkles, moshi manju, toasted siopao, and just sell different things in different weeks.
    •  Carlos: If I may recommend, if we're able to sell moshi manju within a day maybe we can sell within a week as long as we're invested in selling and as long as we're not colliding with other batch fundraising initiatives.
    • Jackie: Speaking of dates, if you're selling, have someone selling at the booth and have someone else roaming around to sell the food.
    • Joel: Yung gusto ko sana is mag-rummage sale, so I'm thinking na starting now, I'll collect rummageables na. But then, we still need to earn 40k. I want suggestions from you guys kung ano pang pwede nating IGPs.
    • Carlos: In the meantime, habang nag-iisip pa tayo, we might have to up our sales by assigning quotas to everyone. I'm really sorry, but we have to do this. Next week, please think of a sustainable, low-risk way to get money.

  • Org Fair Updates
    • Pat: I'm meeting with SEAC tomorrow. They're all G naman with the idea. Wala na tayong org fair launch, just ice cream.
    • Paje: For Council Booth, kailangan na bongga also.
    • Carlos: Traditionally kasi, it's the batchreps that do that. Yung late-out nung booths, the same lang naman? Tin, okay ka with the poster? So tomorrow everything. Can you give a status update by the group tomorrow night.

  • SESC Core updates
    • Carlos: Who are the Cores na kulang pa? STRAW, Sec, Juniors, MARC. Guys once again, the deadline is on Wednesday.
        • Carlos: I think it's gonna be up to the initiative of the Core member and the approval of the Councilor na pweds silang mag-participate with other Cores

  • Haraya
    • Aaron: Tomorrow we have a meeting with our heads. Grad rites dp collection, meet ups na lang, I'll coordinate with my batchmates. Tapos for the grad shoot, it will be from January 28-30.
      • Emira: Wala namang reaction.

  • STRAW Concerns
    • Howie: Kaka-repub lang ng Dear STRAW. Yung una, ang sabi niya "Water is inside the lounge and it's locked huhu". I think the time na ginawa niya 'to was during the registration. Ang nagl-lock is the staff, and ang uwi nila is 5pm. I can't promise na magkakaroon ng ganito, but I can bring this up with Ma'am Kraft. Yung pangatlo is magkaroon ng garbage bins sa SAC, since yung pinakamalapit na basurahan ay yung nasa CR. The last one is BA 141, BA 115, Econ 151, 162, and 198. He said na sana mas macoordinate with the VSB RVC. I think we can talk to admin thoroughly about this. Next is magbibigay sana ako ng letter to Ma'am Kraft requesting a meeting with her, tapos kukuha rin ako ng concerns. Concerns include parking, academic concerns, emergency protocols, lounge in econ, tissues in CR, and trash bins in SAC.

  • EdRes Updates
    • Jem: So I talked to Reini a while ago, and mej final na yung topic ng Kapekonomiya. I'll tell you the final details next week. I was communicating with Ma'am Magno regarding the four-sem rule, but she said that siya kasi yung magr-review it, so baka hindi siya makatulong regarding it kasi conflict of interest. I need someone to help me write the position paper regarding about it. Of course, I don't want to hamper the relationship between the admin and the student council.
