FBR Convocs
  • Gia: Cami and I did a SWOT of the convocations.
  • Gia and Cami:
 
  • STRENGTHS: Started and ended on time. Hosts were great thank you JC and Third. Program was great and organized. The timer did not have a lot of problems. No major connectivity or technical issues. Candidates had equal time to answer the questions.
  • WEAKNESSES: Not as interactive as physical convocs. No live questions because of the time constraints. Pero looking at the chat naman, wala masyadong mga tanong. Not many of their batchmates were watching rin pero if you compare it to the usual attendance, same lang naman. However, I think it would have been better to have more students watching it especially since it’s online na. Lastly, naging three hours siya instead of the usual 2 hours.
  • OPPORTUNITIES: It would have been better if it was on a different time slot and may time for live Q&A.
  • THREATS: May isang candidate na hindi nakasagot because of connectivity issues, so we think this is the biggest threat talaga since it’s online.
 
  • Cami: Update lang rin sa elections, we’re closing at 7 PM. We have 77 votes as of now, pero factoring in the voided votes, 74 na lang. May mga mali kasi ‘yong password and may umulit mag-vote kaya na-void.
 
  • Mario: Wala namang issues sa voting?
 
  • Cami: Wala naman.
 
  • Mario: Okay naman yung number ng voters?
 
  • Cami: Okay naman!
 
  • Mario: Ilan sila in total?
 
  • Cami: I think 111 sila lahat.
 
  • Andi: I think there’s a specific percentage of voters needed for the elections to be succesful.
 
  • Cami: When I read the SEEB Code, parang wala naman.
 
  • Andi: Maybe we can bump na lang sa chat nila to increase the number of voters. Does anyone else have any concerns? Let’s move on to the AKWE Updates.

AKWE Updates
  • Mitch: For facilitating the Discord server, credits sa M&P. For the scoring and prizes, and coordination with winners, ia-assign ko na sila sa FBRs. Kailan sila magiging official part ng council?
 
  • Cami: Ipo-post natin ‘yong pub by tonight or tomorrow. Depending on the results of the elections.
 
  • Mitch: Okay, thanks! For managing the list of participants, assigned na ‘yong sa JBR. Kahoot game masters naman natin ay ang SBR. Nanalo sa poll ay ‘yong Skribbl.io and Kahoot. Dalawa lang ‘yong napili kasi hindi rin sure kung paano magiging mukha ng program flow niya. ‘Yong minecraft ba hindi nanalo?
 
  • Gia: Sa freshies, third ‘yong e-games and sa sophies, third ‘yong minecraft.
 
  • Yas: Sa amin, last ‘yong minecraft.
 
  • Mitch: How about sa Seniors?
 
  • Shin: Fourth right now sa seniors ‘yong Minecraft.
 
  • Mitch: Baka hindi natin ituloy ‘yong minecraft since hindi naman siya consistently nasa top choices. Or pwede isama na lang natin siya sandali sa program flow. We can do something with it naman. Kaya namang i-stream ‘yong kahoot sa discord right?
 
  • Haqq: Pwede naman, pero doon rin ba ‘yong mga nanonood?
 
  • Mitch: Do you have a proposal ba sa kung paano siya mangyayari?
 
  • Haqq: Kung istre-stream naman sa Facebook, pwedeng sa discord na lang kasi kaya naman siyang i-broadcast through Facebook.
 
  • Mitch: Okay. For Kahoot naman ang naiisip pa lang na mga themes or topics ay Pop culture, UP trivia, and UPSE Culture. 
 
  • Andi: I think Jaro has a manifestation. Jaro?
 
  • Jaro: To respond lang, recently with Ecosoc, I’m Team Apps kasi, so kami nag-head ng mga tournaments. Medyo mahirap siya kasi parang sa amin, isa sa mga heads sumali pa sa mismong tournament para lang ma-share niya ‘yong game. Hindi siya basta-bastang mali-livestream unless isa sa mga participants ‘yong magli-livestream.
 
  • Haqq: I think if ever na ganoon nga, kaya naman nating i-manage. May students from each team na magstrea-stream na. Tapos the moderators na ‘yong pipili and magma-manage kung anong video ‘yong naka-spotlight.
 
  • Mario: Question, isa lang ba ‘yong kailangan mag-stream para makita ‘yong lahat? Parang ang gulo if magpapa-palit palit ng taong magstrea-stream. Ano ‘yong logistics noon? Secondly, naisip ko rin if pwede bang multiple people magstrea-stream to different batch groups?
 
  • Jaro: In the Skribbl tournament I headed with someone from Ecosoc, the players were 100 people. We placed the people into breakout rooms. Nagdagdag kami ng moderator and whenever siya na magdra-draw, naging bonus question na lang siya. So if people answered it, ide-deduct na lang ‘yon satotal points nila kasi it’s not counted. I will have to agree with Mario na magulo if papalit-palit ‘yong magla-livestream.
 
  • Haqq: Motion to extend for 10 minutes.
 
  • EJ: I second the motion. 
 
  • Andi: Okay. Just a reminder lang na if there are any logistical concerns, the AKWE team can handle it nalang through their meetings.
 
  • Mitch: Naging successful naman ba ‘yong event niyo, Jaro?
 
  • Jaro: Yes. I’ll be happy to discuss our systems with your privately.
 
  • Mitch: Thank you. Sa kahoot, again, proposed na ‘yong topics, mayroon rin ba kayong gustong idagdag? If wala naman, I’ll proceed na. Okay na ba sa inyo ‘yong two games? Or masyado nang tatagal if naging tatlo or apat. Sa akin, two na ‘yong gusto ko para hindi masyadong mabigat. Lastly, wala naman akong na-miss na na deliverable. Title for Akwe? May suggestions ba kayo? Someof the suggestions are AKWE 2.0, AKWE: New Normal. If may naisip kayo, sabihin niyo sa akin. Anyway, magpapa-poll naman ako. 
 
  • Andi: Any more questions?
 
  • Jaro: To clarify, ilang oras ‘yong Akwe?
 
  • Mitch: 2 hours.
  • Jaro: Okay, kasi sa Skribbl.io, each player has 1 minute to draw, so I think that that’s something to keep in mind lang. 
 
  • Mario: I think what we can look into is that we don’t have to livestream all games. We’re more enticed to watch livestreams when it’s engaging talaga. Baka if championship round lang, that’s what we livestream so we don’t have to go through the logistics of it pa.
 
  • Andi: Any more questions? Okay, I have one last question na lang, Mitch. Just the people who signed up will play right? Or kahit sino na pwede?
 
  • Mitch: Kahit sa Skribbl, mga respresentatives na lang. For kahoot, kahit sino na lang kasi wala naman siyang groupings or anything. Kahit sino pwedeng pumunta.

Thesis Talk Updates
  • EJ: My short presentation kami ng SWOT Analysis of the event.
 
  • Shin: For the strengths: we had proper sensing. A week and a half early ‘yong sensing so we were able to get a feel of the attendance ng mga tao. Voting was slow at the start kasi the people didn’t know their schedules. Another strength was that the speakers were very relatable. They were only a batch above us so we know them na talaga. Close’yong age and nagging friends namin. The discourse was free-flowing lang. The program started and ended on time. The Zoom meeting was made available at the same night for those who was not able to attend.
 
  • EJ: For the weaknesses, not all of the invited speakers were able to come. Originally, hindi lahat ng speakers nakapunta because of conflicts in schedule. Only 35 out of 54 came to the talk. Upon checking the zoom call, 35 students lang sa batch namin nakapunta     sa call. Zoom call problems since not everyone has the same reliability of internet. Medyo may mga nagla-lag pero not too major to affect the presentations.
 
  • Shin: We started a few minutes late because Elaine had to enter twice because her mic was not working.
 
  • Shin: Opportunities: Continued help from Bel and Elaine. She told me that we can forward questions from the batch to her lang. She said na if anyone has questions rin she’s open to help naman. Pwede parin kunin si Coleen and Corinne for future talks on thesis topics. Feedback from people: Everyone naman enjoyed the talk and parang nagging regular conversation with friends lang siya. People weren’t bored.
 
  • EJ: Threats: Availability ng speakers, specifically the scheduling with speakers is a threat kasi we weren’t able to get all the speakers we wanted. Next would be availability of participants. That was solved by the zoom recording naman so they can browse it when they want. May mga times na magla-lag ng konti. Moreor less, I think that the program went well. Thank you.
 
  • Andi: Does anyone have any questions? Okay, than you SBRs!

Photoshop Workshop Updates
  • Kyla: As you all know, we’re planning on having a workshop this Saturday. September 21,we started conducting the sensing and asked the BRA to send the forms to their respective batch GCs. We asked kung anong gusto nilang topics and what time convenient for them. We’re going to close the forms when we release the forms for sign-ups na.
 
  • Haqq: After namin mag-conduct ng sensing, it looks like 21 ‘yong nag-yes. Pero more than 10 ata na nag-yes ay galing sa core namin. So medyo hesitant kami mag-push thorugh kasi sayang sa oras if ever na onti lang rin ‘yong magpa-participate. Mayroon pa ring workshop pero internal na lang. Maybe we can share a video na lang na pwedeng i-access externally. Just an update na lang rin sa Minecraft server: kulang na lang ‘yong mga rooms. Library is almost done na rin. Lalagyan na lang ng mga bookshelves, ganoon. We were thinking rin what if we turn it into a freshie tour na lang. While we’re touring them kailangan nilang hanapin ‘yong isang shelf na may message, parang informational lang siya. So tayong council pwede mag-talk regarding it.
 
  • Andi: Comment lang sa tour, super cute ng idea. Once na-elect na ‘yong FBRs maybe you can coordinate with them regarding it.

Partnership Proposals
  • Jaro: first I’d like to have a recap of our active partnerships right now. We have 8 active partnerships. Our active partnerships include: UP CAP, 49ers, and COPE UP. JPIA, UP CALSC, PREMED SOC, and Mental Health month. Mayroon rin tayong dalawang pending proposals. First is from the Student Council Alliance of the Philippines. Also if you’re wondering sa discussion ng mga proposals, as I’ve promised, if urgent linalagay ko sa FB group, if hindi naman maybe we can talk about it sa GA. If we partner with them, they are requesting 1-3 participants from the student council. Is there anyone wiling to attend the event? October 3 Saturday, 3 PM - 6 PM.
 
  • Third: I think I’d be available by that time naman.
 
  • Mario: Is that going to be kind of like a discussion/seminar?
 
  • Jaro: To inform the body, these are their objectives: to know the educational policies that protect students from sexual harassment, to know the experiences of those who have faced sexual harassment, and to explore possible policies to address issues in higher education.
 
  • JC: I’ll be available by that time na rin.
 
  • Jaro: Thank you JC and Third! The next proposal naman is from the Habitat for Humanity. If we become a major partner, kailangan 20 ‘yong magla-like ng pubmats nila and 15 sa page nila. If Minor, 10 for both. Maybe you can comment sa chat if g or pass. While waiting for the votes, since we have 9 active partnerships, I’d like to remind everyone lang to be participative with regards to fulfilling our partnerships requirements. Okay, it seems that we are pushing through with the minor package. Please allow me to update you on my initiatives. I would like to thank the batch reps for the sensing of the Donation Drive. I think the constituents were able to choose Displaced Workers in UP as the beneficiaries of the donation drive. Na-approve ko na lahat ng systems for resume bank and opportunities portal. For partnership management, may mga taong assigned na sa mga partnerships. Thankfully, I was able to coordinate with the core with regards to this. For e-store naman, I was able to go to UPSE and get all our inventory. Lastly, for small scale IGPs, we’re still meeting with the team with regards to it. 

House Rules
  • Third: I’d just like to remind everyone to follow house rules when it comes to our GAs. Please do not speak without being recognized by Andi kasi other than it leading to unorderly discussions, it is also kind of hard to take the minutes. Furthermore, I want to take this time lang rin to discuss the House Cup. I want to be clear with the pointing system. As I’ve said in the plansem, if you do not share our pubs within the day of posting, your house will receive demerits. I want it to be our habit na rin na ‘pag may pubs na pino-post ‘yong council, we automatically react and share agad kasi it’s our way of supporting our co-councillors and the M&P na rin. If you don’t make paalam naman when you don’t attend our GAs or events, may demerits rin for it. However, it’s a case to case basis kasi may mga unforeseen events rin talaga. to entice you rin guys, if your house is the first house to be complete in our events, may plus points na kayo! I won’t be penalizing this napero please be punctual! That’s all!

STRAW
  • Third: Hi ulit guys! Just wanted to update you with regards to the progress of my core. We’re currently working on three main things right now. First is that we’re making a timeline of STRAW related events since the start of the quarantine. Second, we’re working on the mental health pubs na for the midterms season. Lastly, we’re working on the Advocacy Fair na rin. Right now, we’re pooling possible partners for the initiative and will start contacting them this week. With regards to Dear STRAW, again, wala pa namang mga grievances. However, one grievance kind of carried over before my term, which is the delay in the requests for documents. I have been coordinating with admin with regards to this and hopefully ma-resolve na siya anytime within the week.

EdRes Updates
  • Emman: Nakapag-usap na ako with JBR and SBR with regards to the statistics software workshops. We agreed na mas okay if they will handle it na lang themselves kasi medyo weird if mayroon silang workshop for it and mayroon rin kami. The most efficient way to go about it that’s both pertinent to the Juniors and pertinent to the seniors is to let them plan it para its catered to them talaga. Next thing is ECONcepts, the topic is equity of education during the pandemic. This will discuss questions such as “sino ‘yong hindi nakaka-access ng education because of the online setting ngayon?” By tonight, sana mabigay na namin ‘yong content sa M&P for the pub. Question for M+P. How long kaya do you think will your team need to work on infogs? 
 
  • Haqq: I think since gagawan rin siya ng template, we’ve discussed dati na 7 days sana. If ever, na may template na, kaya na siguro ‘yong 5 at the minimum. 
 
  • Emman: Let’s discuss it na lang tonight. Updates regarding the planned events with ASEO orgs. So October 10, Debate 101. October 17, for the Financial Literacy Talk. Hindi pa final ‘to pero if the organizing orgs agree with it, then we’ll push through with it. We didn’t push through with the acad calendar kasi wala pa naman masyadong nangyayari right now. The plan is we’ll coordinate with the batch acad heads. Expect that by October may calendar na for each batch.
 
  • Andi: Update Third na rin if you have any changes sa dates ng events para ma-update ‘yong calendar.
 
  • Emman: Yes, I’ve been coordinating with Third na rin with regards to that.

Other Matters
  • Third: I just want to commend everyone for starting and ending your events on time. I think that’s really important given that everything’s online na.
 
  • Andi: Napansin ko rin na sa mga events on time talaga nagsta-start and nage-end. good job guys! Mitch?
 
  • Mitch: So sa AKWE committee, please vote sa poll natin kung kailan pwede mag-meet. Sa ASEO, please upload niyo na rin sa resume bank mga resumes niyo. Napansin ko rin na sobrang konti na nagshe-share ng mga ASEO pubs natin, so please share na. Isa din ‘to sa mga main projects natin or like another body na kailangan rin nating i-promote. Heads up lang rin if hindi ako makakasali sa Zoom, ibig sabihin na mabagal ‘yong net or hindi ako maka-connect. For the meantime Third if hindi ako nakasali, ibig sabihin hindi ako maka-connect.
