SEEB Updates (c/o SEEB Co-Chairpersons)

Communications
  • SEEB is divided into three: Communications, Secretariat, and Logistics
  • Mario and Shin assigned respective links passed by the candidates
  • Constantly monitoring if they are following the guidelines

Logistics
  • We’re planning on how we’re going to be able to do the convocs online
  • Thanks to council emmbers we have tapped for help sa log
  • We have separate groupchats per candidate and that’s where we course pub approval
  • So far, wala namang problema sa pagsunod ng electoral code and we hope it remains that way

If ever you guys are planning on passing another waiver, pass lang kayo and let us know if hindi naming nare-replyan.

Manifestations, motions, and specifics:

Andi: Are we going to post the waivers sa SEEB page?

Shin: Parang hindi rin naman pinost ‘yong mga waivers ng mga past committees.

Mario: Maybe we can set a deadline na lang so that we’re able to post that these are the candidates you’re going to submit.

Ate Yolly Updates + Constitution Revisions Updates (c/o Chairperson)

Ate Yolly
  • Php 122, 035. We’re going to be releasing the thank you pubs tonight.
  • Enough to cover the hospital bill, funeral bill, and daily needs of Ate Yolly

Consti Rev
  • Concomm met last Monday and we finished going through all the suggestions
  • I’ll send it to concomm for approval.
  • Once it has been approved, I have reserved a pub sched na for June 7 so that we’re able to post the amendments na.
  • 2 days before the start of elections.
Manifestations, motions, and specifics:

Grad Talk Evals (c/o SeBreps)

First of all, thank you for attending the event.

STRENGTHS
  • Attendance because of incentives
  • Sensing in different batches
  • Maraming profs nagbigay ng incentives
  • Speakers were known by UPSE so it was easy for audience to relate to them
  • Audience interaction. We’re happy na hindi lang tahimik ‘yong audience.
WEAKNESSES
  • Program flow, we had a loaded event because we had 5 speakers. We tried to remind the speakers naman regarding the time they had left pero hindi na rin maiiwasan.
  • Time constraint
  • Collection of incentive forms. Since we tried to course it through Zoom lang, apparently there were quite a number of people who weren’t able to see the link.
THREATS
  • Last minute confirmation of speakers. We thought at first na okay na ‘yong
  • Kasabay and malapit sa Ecosoc genmeet kaya we were worried that it would affect the
OPPORTUNITIES
  • Speakers saw how value-adding the event was
  • People who may plan to have a grad talk in the future. Maybe you can approach Sir Jandoc rin to talk about opportunities abroad for graduate studies
  • Maybe we can extend the program flow a bit
  • Target ibang mga post-graduate courses
Manifestations, motions, and specifics:

Emman: I felt that the event was really good as someone who is planning on going to grad school. It was really informative and maraming nabigay na tipcs mga invited speakers natin.

Andi: Sobrang natuwa ako sa 200+ na attendees. Congrats Shin and EJ especially for getting so many incentives.

Third: I would just like to point out na ang raming hindi from UPSE, which is really really good. Even during the event itself, ang raming nagme-message asking about the event.

Mitch: Ang ganda nang pagkakasunod-sunod ng speakers na si Josh talaga ‘yong huli especially since marami na ring nakakakilala sa kaniya.

Emman: Really consider natin next time to open it up to the UP community na. Marami talagang invested kahit mga alums nagme-message sa akin if pwede silang mag-register for the event.

Shin: I just wanted to tell you guys that I uploaded the recording on our YT event, kailangan lang i-share ‘yong link kasi unlisted siya.

Andi: Maybe BRA can share it. If this event is going to be a staple, second sem is going to be a nice time kasi that’s when students think about grad school talaga. Kahit medyo last minute, I think it was a good thing that Ma’am Kraft was there kasi she was able to answer a lot of questions about the fellowships.

STRAW Updates (c/o STRAW-Sec)

BA 99.2
  • Talked to the person already and fortunately, the TAs were able to retrieve the legit answers naman raw from the first trial.
  • Other than that, the prof will be counting the answers from the first trial na raw, which is nice given how unfair it is that the score was initially based on the second attempt.
  • I have coordinated with the student and let them know that if they have any other concerns, we’re open to helping them.

Econ 141
  • Thanks to Andi for helping me understand what happened doon sa grievance
  • Unfortunately, the coursework for Econ 141 is being very heavy for the students. Given the online learning setup, sobrang hirap rin talaga i-manage lahat ng acad responsibilities naitn especially if it becomes too demanding
  • According to Andi, the class is already discussing their course of action. They were supposed to have a meeting today but it was cancelled because the probset deadline was postponed.
  • We can try having a poll instead on what the class can do just to make sure that everyone agrees to it. I would suggest sending an email and then stating that this is all up for discussion in the coming synch session with Ma’am.
  • I’ll be coordinating with Andi regarding the actions we can take to coordinate with the prof or with admin if kailangan
Manifestations, motions, and specifics:

Andi: Ma’am Magno also talked about having a compiled list of grievances for the school year?

Third: Yup, Andi, working on it already!

Partnership Proposals (c/o WaM)

Partnerships
  • Coordinated with Andi. Most of my core members are busy. We’ve decided to stop accepting partnership proposals right now so we can focus on our existing partnership responsibilities. We don’t want to disappoint rin our partners by not accomplishing
  • Orgs under ASEO. Tuloy-tuloy natin ‘yon iko-consider. Right now wala namang from

Fin Initiatives
  • Our e-store profit is low also. We’ve already posted another pub to bump it lang but people aren’t ordering. Hirap tayong mag-generate ng profits. Kailangan talagang aralin kung anong mga IGPs nagwo-work. Obviously, hindi na nagwo-work. ‘Yong bazaar we all know it worked nung first sem.
  • We planned to have a raffle as the secondincome generating project. I suggested so people wil be incentivized. Part of the proceeds will go to Abot Serbisyo.Given the time constraint. Handle their personal schedules, hindi kinaya. Moving forward baka pwede i-apply ng next na council.
  • We also have a Shopee page already. We’re just refining it more this time.
  • Right now wala pang dagdag na donations. Kung ano ‘yong nasa tracker, ‘yon parin ‘yon.
Manifestations, motions, and specifics:

Andi: There was an IGP scheduled this week or next week, any updates?

Jaro: To address that, initially in the past GA, mayroon tayong initial date for the online bazaar, which is first week or second week of May. Nahirapan nga talaga maghanap ng partners for the bazaar. Let’s just make it as successful as possible. Other than that, we had to reschedule the Bazaar. The Bazaar will be happening on May 31 until June 13. Right now we have 8 partners. Minimal profit is better than zero profit, regardless kung ilan ‘yong maging partners naming, itutuloy naming siya kasi wala namang magiging puhunan for this.

Other Matters

Emman: Wala naman nang statements planned apart from yung independence day. I'm working on the other internal things like the Statements Style Guide, the last Econcepts mini releases ng edres and the remaining tutorials. Wala pang dates ‘yong release ng econcepts mini but it's with a pub na.

Jaro: Mario and Shin, nag-email si Sir Ruben asking for a list of candidates. Please reply na lang.

Mario: We replied na just now.

Andi: One of the amendments we discussed has something to do with the freshie rep to the UFC being a non-voting part of the SESC. Officially, the freshie rep will be part of the SESC.

Mario: Paano ‘yong magiging dynamics, kasama siya sa mga GCs? So everything but the voting?

Emman: The point of including freshie rep was para mas lubog siya sa discussion ng Econ. Pagdating sa UFC mas maganda siguro na up to date siya sa ganap ng SESC in a way na mas involved in comparison to just being a core member. Sa atin okay naman na walang vote kasi mayroon na rin namang 2 voted from the freshie rep para lang all batches have equal voting power as represented by their batch representatives.
