- Regina: Local News - Hostage Taking at Greenhills mall. A security guard who was fired from his job held dozens of people hostage at a mall in Greenhills, San Juan on Monday, March 2. The former guard, 40-year-old Alchie Paray, was fired from Safeguard Armor Security Corporation (SASCOR) after being absent without leave for weeks. The hostages were freed by Monday evening and the hostage-taker arrested. (https://www.rappler.com/newsbreak/iq/253222-timeline-greenhills-hostage-taking-incident)
- Maui: UP News - Gamban, UP Fighting Maroons strut to upset of Ateneo UAAP 82. University of the Philippines had an electric start to its UAAP Season 82 men’s volleyball campaign, scoring a massive upset of Ateneo de Manila University, 25-21, 25-20, 25-22, Wednesday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. Facing last season’s third-placers, the Fighting Maroons drew strength and confidence from Louis Gamban. The rookie out of Perpetual rained down 10 points, with most coming at the critical juncture of the match. (https://tiebreakertimes.com.ph/tbt/gamban-fighting-maroons-strut-way-upset-ateneo/180854)

II. Finance Updates
- Mitch: So on-going na yung bazaar, 20+ yung merchants kahit may mga nagback-out. On Monday, since I’m coming from Tacloban, Josh, is it okay if you make me salo sa ingress? You just need to wait for the soundsystem, you will just fill out sa portal. Just wait for the merchants to settle and welcome there. May mga nag pullout na makukulit. Last Monday, may mga tumatawag na gusting magset up ng half-booth pero di talaga puwede pero pinayagan ko na but they only paid us 500. They just gave rummageables worth 3200 since wala silang pambayad sa booth.
- Josh: Solid yung security guards kasi binabantayan sila and di puwede makalabaas
- Mitch: We requested that kay Ayala. There are also merchants na ayaw mag-down so what they did is they paid the daily rate nalang and pulled out. I am just waiting for the E*Store and the Mitch and Match final orders and I ordered the bucket hats na!
- Josh: Are there more concessionaires asking?
- Mitch: Yes meron pero check siya do you guys have a government ID so we can make it payable to you guys. There’s also Rita’s ice cream but they backed out.
- Josh: Daan kayo sa Technohub dumaan kami last night!
III. Econ. Week Updates - Econ. Week Team
- Giselle: Yesterday, we met with UPSEAA and I presented the program flow and the new corporate packages for econ week. I was also specific on what they can offer like speakers, food sponsorships, giveaways, etc. They mentioned that they have a board meeting next week and they asked us to send us the powerpoint and packages. They said na okay naman and they like the events held in school more than outside events.
- Mikha: We finalized the theme for the weeklong event and surprise nalang kung ano yun.
- Regina: I talked to the ASEO organizations na and there are some who confirmed their event and there are some na hindi pa final. But we will have the finalized list soon na rin.
V. Econ. Rep. Updates
- Je: For headlines, I’m thinking of not pushing through with the offline activities since I want the money to be spent for it to be for the most important events of council. So magiging online nalang siya. So the acad reps of batch core will get news articles and we will collate it and make it an internal pub. If we push through with the physical way, we might use the bulletin board. For the DGs, we need some time to prepare since we haven’t met with my core. But then we will have a general situationer on the campus issues. We will hold them by late to mid-march. For the BMI, I am initially looking at the Save San Roque Alliance. But if other orgs take that initiative, I’ll change it. Do you guys have any suggestions for any BMI? Also for those reading minutes, if you guys have any recommendations, please just message me.
- Jv: Do you want to visit Rizal again? Where we visited for BRA outreach and see how they’re doing?
- Je: Puwede naman pero it can’t just be half day na siguro. I’ll take it into consideration!
VI. EdRes Updates - Econ. Rep. to the USC
- Je: On march 8 we will have a DP change in the page ng SESC for Women’s Month na purple logo with a caption. Ready na yung caption we just need you guys to approve it, especially the women since it’s through your POV. It’s similar to what Russel made last year na DP change. It will be on Sunday, 12nn. This is really the day of interntional women’s day. Once it’s released, don’t forget to like and share the DP. The caption is about the inequalities women’s face. If you guys want to add something, let me know lang. Next, we have 2 EDs. One of them is Women in the Economy (March 26). It will be like a career talk. They will share their experiences in the careers and how it’s like working in a predominantly male environment. We will ask help from Maui from this since we want someone sana who’s an Alumni. We want someone from business, technology, and I think government. For tutors naman, 181 will have a tutorial and we’re having problems looking for a tutor for it and batch 2015 yung last nagtake so yun. We have a tutorial tomorrow for Math 21 and we had trouble looking for a tutor for 163 cos new prof.
VII. STRAW Updates
- Andi: Wala naman dear STRAW but during the ASEO GA there were concerns about the tambayan like the fan for OBEM, and the leaking for Ecosoc. I will pass Tita Millet to tell her. For Tuklas, we have 6 NGOs and 3 Org Partners (OBEM, UPIC, and Alyansa). That’s it for STRAW Updates!
VIII. Wellness Week Updates - STRAW and SAC
- Andi: For Dog Day, we partnered with UP MMDA Vanguard K9. So the MOA was finalized yesterday and they will give 3-4 dogs. We’ll also have 3 other dogs from econ students. Since the request of UP MMDA Vanguard K9 is fans, do you think we can borrow fans from econ?
- Josh: The one outside the Audi. You can talk to Mang Estong.
- Andi: For the HIV, I’m partnering with Dylan, Pat Del, and Giselle for CWTS. It’s weird since we confirmed with the clinic 3 weeks ago, and bigla they want us to send a letter of request. It wasn’t needed last sem but we sent it anyway. Wala pa reply, but we will follow up. For Diwa, we have a lot of councilors but we only have 15 sign ups. So, the plan is I talked to Orallo, we will repub tonight and Sunday. For LCC group, please share it there. On Wednesday we were supposed to have 9 professionals but I reduced it to 6. Council, if you guys are interested, you can sign up.
- Je: Could you send me what institutions so that the people have assurance na they’re really professionals?
- Andi: Okay sure. BRA please help nalang in re-sharing. For the rooms naman, it’s fixed na, pero medyo confusing lang siya I’ll talk to JV about it.
- Mikha: We got Sir Arjo for the Yoga instructor again and my target is 5 participants. It will be on Wednesday.
- Josh: Try to partner with admin about it!
- Mikha: Okay sige. I also finalized the massage na it will be good for 15 people.
- Josh: This will be pubbed this weekend?
- Mikha: Yes
IX. BRA Outreach Updates - Junior Batch Representatives
- Shin: We sent out proposals and we have 2 responses: greenpeace (we’re still talking to them) and people and the sea. The latter replied first but then their location is in the Visayas pa. So we’re still looking and we’ll start calling na next week. Just a reminder again for the 1000 per batch. If you guys have more contacts, please let us know!
- Maui: Is it tuloy on the 14th?
- Mario: Not anymore
- Shin: tentative na yan it’s not super sure.
X. MAR Concerns
- Maui: So yung sinned ko sa chat yesterday, yung Masscom pride week it will be online nalang. So instead of attending an event, we will just answer the social media prompts. For the gold package, 15 likes and shares and answer the questions on facebook. Are you guys g?
- Josh: Everyone is G.
- Maui: For the resumes ng CAP, please give it to me by today. Every one is required to give. Remind ko lang rin sa likes and shares.
- Reg: Nagpapabrig sana yung CAP sa batches since they have Econ organizations have specific dates for the org fair: March 11 (PCC), March 12 (NEDA and DOF).
XI. M&P Concerns
- Orallo: I noticed for the past posts we don’t reach 18 shares. So parang, to the point na hindi tayo umaabot ng 15 even with my core. So, I talked to JV about it and ihohouse points yun.
- Mario: How do you check?
- Orallo: I control the page kaya walang takas yun. So there will be -250 per person if not everyone shares.
- Jv: I hope you guys take this seriously cause sinasayang niyo effort ng M&P and his core.
- Josh: It shouldn’t be hard for us cause orallo shares it sa group chat so dapat automatic nay un.
- Reg: also for the ASEO pubs, dapat automatic na 19 shares na rin yun but 6 lang yung nagshashare so please take into account of that.
- Josh: Simula ngayon, we shouldn’t have another talk like this. 2 months nalang, technically 1 month. So, sulitin niyo nalang. Malapit na matapos. After this day, dapat lahat magshashare.
- Orallo: Sana when you see the link, share it na agad. 24 hours after the post wala pa rin then that’s when I will minus it.
XII. Other Matters
- Jv: I’m still collecting donations for ate yolly!
