Convocs Evals + Election Updates (c/o SEEB Co-Chairs)

Convocs
STRENGTHS
  • Great flow of questions
  • Organizers were very hands on and on top of things

WEAKNESSES
  • Connectivity issues with the host
  • Sudden influx of questions during the event, so we had to narrow the questions down

OPPORTUNITIES
  • Livestream through Facebook
  • Dedicate a day for a full rundown of technical parts of the event
  • Consider getting incentives from profs

THREATS
  • Conflicting schedule with Upfront that led to a last minute change of schedule
    • Maybe we can coordinate with ASEO and remind them to keep in mind when other orgs have already released their own schedules on their own events.

Elections
  • We’re going to ask if we can have a breakdown of how many people have already voted para we know which batch representatives should work harder to get their batches to vote.
  • Reminder sa batch representatives to encourage your batchmates to vote.
Manifestations, motions, and specifics:

*5:36 PM – JBR Bastida enters the room

Emman: Alam ko 6 PM magre-release sila ng updates sa turnout. I’m not sure if by batch ba or by department. Maybe we can look into that.

Jaro: Noong nangangampanya ako, ang major concern ng mga seniors is if eligible parin ba sila to vote if they’re graduating na. Baka we can release a note na despite being graduating, seniors can still vote.

Shin: We’ll be sure to create a statement explicitly telling them to still vote despite being seniors.

Mitch: Nag-scheduling kami sa ASEO GA and ‘yon ‘yong binigay na mga dates ng Ecosoc and ni Third kaya gusto ko lang sana i-clarify kung ano ‘yong naging issue sa scheduling?

Mario: We announced a month before our dates na for the convocs.

Shin: We would have preferred sana if they coordinate with us muna.

Mario: Hindi sana ganito ‘yong nangyari

EdRes Updates + Econcepts Evals

ECONcepts
  • Ang ECONcepts natin ngayon ay mas related sa day to day lives ng mga tao.
  • What is very good about the recent release was that halos nakakuha tayo ng 10k na reach.
  • It outperformed ‘yong releases natin so far. Ito ‘yong pinakamabentang release ng EdRes.
  • We can’t be sure yet if this is the best format for releases kasi isa pa lang ‘to, we’re not sure if it’s because of the format, the topic, or what.
  • Natagalan kami cutting stuff down kasi medyo naninibago pa ‘yong researchers sa format.
  • Last na ‘yong next week na release, I’ll be giving an update na lang sa FB group.

Acad Alliance
  • We’re just looking for one last Math tutor for the Math Finals na tutorial.
  • 400 pesos siya, doble na ng original na offer natin.

Statements
  • Nakapag-release tayo ng DP change with new statement for Pride Month.
  • Thank you to everyone who commented, happy pride.
  • Independence day statement on Saturday, I’ll be sharing the statement to you by Friday.
Manifestations, motions, and specifics:

Mitch: Anong oras ‘yong release ng statement kasi mayroon ring release ‘yong ASEO?

Emman: Usually sa ganiyan, I’d defer to M&P for the scheduling.

Mitch: 7 PM ‘yong sa ASEO.

Emman: We can release by 8 PM naman.

Andi: Congrats Emman on the reach and engagements sa recent ECONcepts.

M&P Announcement (c/o M&P)

  • Starting this Friday hindi na kami tatanggap ng mga pub requests because of the moratorium for the pub. ‘Yong kanila Emman naka-schedule na rin ‘yon.
  • Magkakaroon ng release na ilalabas sa Instagram. We’ll do it by the last week of classes.
Manifestations, motions, and specifics:

STRAW Updates (c/o STRAW-Sec)

Econ 131
  • Thank you so much to JC for coordinating with the class and the prof about the inclusion of new topics in the class despite the time constraint.
  • We’re just waiting for class consensus na lang before sending a petition letter to the professor regarding their appeal.
Shifting Concerns
  • It’s that time of the academic year again especially for the freshies.
  • Please ask your constituents if they have any questions about shifting/transferring.
  • They may course the questions through you or use Dear STRAW!
Consolidated report
  • As per last GA, I am already working on this. Unfortunately, my academic responsibilities are piling up which is why I will most likely finish it after finals week pa.
  • Thankfully, Ma’am Magno did not set a deadline for it naman but rest assured, I will be sending it as soon as possible.

Manifestations, motions, and specifics:

Bazaar Evals (c/o WaM)

Summer Bazaar
STRENGTHS
  • Very dedicated core members, for transparency, one of my core members faced a problem during the course of the project pero nagawan naman naming ng paraan ‘yong responsibilities.
  • 4,500 pesos for the bazaar. Nahirapan tayo sa pagkuha ng partners.
  • We have 43,397.85 right now. Wala pa tayong bazaar and E-store income. Most likely, we’re going to have approximately 49k.
WEAKNESSES
  • Kailangan aralin ng next Finance Councilor kung gugustuhin niya mag-bazaar given the different problems we have faced.
  • We had one partner na nag-back out. We refunded their 500 pesos right after.
OPPORTUNITIES
  • We can tap bigger businesses and review their backgrounds.
THREATS
  • Mahirap talaga kumuha ng partners for these types of initiatives ngayon.
Manifestations, motions, and specifics:

[Motion] Shin: Motion to extend by 5 minutes.

Mitch: I second the motion.

Andi: I was slightly disappointed kasi sa first few days hindi ganoon karaming tao nagshe-share ng mga pubs natin. All initiatives are Council initiatives. Good job to Jaro and his team. 4k is still a really good amount. For the next council, we just need to evaluate if bazaars are the way to go.

Jaro: Responsibilities na likes and shares. I’m formally requesting from EdRes, STRAW, M&P, and SESC to become representatives for our partnership responsibilities. We want to comply sa lahat ng responsibilities na nagawa na natin. We will be given until the end of the Month to comply with the requirements so that we can focus on our academic requirements.

Andi: Reminder na lang rin sa fin statement to be prepared by Ways and Means.

Jaro: I’m already preparing it. More on that sa other matters.

Other Matters

Jaro: I am requesting each Council member na may disbursement baka kaya na natin pag-usapan. If mayroon kayong mga disbursement which will be incurred anytime soon, please inform me para alam ko rin lalo na if malaki ‘yong disbursement so that we can estimate a cash balance. For everyone’s information, I will be creating a financial statement, I will be coordinating with M&P Councilors for the pubs.

Emman: Heads up, last tutor na lang rin ‘yong expense naming so 400 lang for EdRes.

Third: I would just like to publicly apologize for the mishap on Interim SESC GA Minutes #18. For the information of the student body, during the discussion on the concerns, I shared a personal experience concerning the issue to the Council, which was not included in the minutes because of its personal nature and for data privacy reasons. Jaro’s statement was a response to that, and therefore, I do believe that to an extent it was taken out of context and was not truly reflective of his sentiments during that time. I take full responsibility for my mistake seeing as how I was the one taking the minutes as the Secretariat Councilor.

Jaro: It was just a misunderstanding. It really manifested that people read the GA minutes. Dapat constructive at all times ang tingin natin sa mga concerns ng mga students. I am accountable rin naman for my words.

Haqq: Sine-send naman si ni Third so gusto ko lang rin bigyan siya ng credit. We have to read the minutes rin to make sure that it’s truly reflective of what we’re trying to say. Pinapakita ng minutes kung paano natin pag-usapan ‘yong ganitong types ng mga issues. ‘Yon talaga ‘yong sense ng minutes.

Jaro: ‘Yon din. The reason why I don’t blame Third is because it’s a lack of my part kasi we’re given time to review the minutes. Occupied ako during those times. That does not excuse me from what has happened naman. I am taking full accountability for this. Lumusot lang kumbaga.

Andi: Tonight, I’ll release the forms through the batch representatives. I’ll make a gc with BRA kasi we need 50% + 1 pero batch. Last GA, we also brought up that RVC will release a survey regarding graduation. What won is online graduation, so we’ll be having one for the seniors this year.

Jaro: Shin and Mario, kailan ‘yong announcement ng elected council members?

Shin: Pinaka-official na announcement will be on the 15th.
