FBR Elections Evaluations (c/o Sophomore Batch Representatives)
- Gia: We did a swot analysis and divided our evals into three periods: application, campaign, and election periods.
- STRENGTHS:
- Applications
- During the applications, there were a lot of applicants for the positions.
- Campaign
- They were able to do virtual RTRs at the start of some of their classes.
- Election
- It was organized and it was really easy to keep track of the votes.
- It was organized and it was really easy to keep track of the votes.
- Cami:
- WEAKNESSES
- Applications
- Most of the applicants submitted at the last day of application period. We don’t really see this as a weakness pero it’s something that should be taken into consideration rin.
- Campaign
- Nagkaroon ng initial complaint about the RTR taking up too much time. We could have coordinated better with the profs.
- Elections
- Some of the batchmates did not get the emails. During the voting period, mali ‘yong nalagay ng iba na emails nila so we had to redo theirs.

Plansem Presentation (c/o Freshman Batch Representatives)
- Belle: Good afternoon everyone! We will now be presenting our plans for today. First we have our project proposals.
- Rejam: First, we have our services and initiatives. We plan to establish study groups that shall meet regularly. This will include mock exams, google drive, and youtube playlists. We’re planning on having one this Sunday na. The location will be through zoom. We plan to have one-on-one sessions for subjects or topics. Monday every other week through Zoom or Discord.
- Belle: The dates aren’t final pa. Next we have the Batch Drive which will contain reviewers, batch directory, online calendar, etc. We also plan to host mental health surveys, every month. We plan to make infographics for mental health. Online care package where there will be different files for mental health. Most Of these will be done through google drive and the batch facebook page.
- Rejam: Next we have “Tips from Seniors”. We want to connect the freshies to our upperclassmen. We also want to invite the seniors for a day. Next we have or events na. First, we have the Batch E-numan, every Saturday at 8 PM. This will be done through Zoom or Discord.
- Belle: Now, we have an advocacy awareness week. We want our batchmates to choose advocacies that they would like to promote. In line with this, we will have games to promote the said event.
- Rejam: We will also have a batch donation drive. Our primary intention includes: raising funds for those who are in need. Beneficiaries are open to discussion with the batch and this will be done at the same time as the advocacy week. This will be coordinated through Facebook, and donations can be collected through GCash and Paymaya.
- Belle: We also plan to design t-shirts, mugs, pins, stickers, available for sale for all freshies from UPD. We plan to do this around November which will be done through Facebook and Instagram.
- Rejam: For our budget proposal, we only have one: tokens of appreciation for speaker/s for the Advocacy Week. These may come in the form of online vouchers.
- Belle: For our pub proposals, we want to create pubs that feature small businesses as a way to support our economy. We plan to do this through the Facebook page.
- Rejam: Next we have our monthly birthday pubs. These pubs will announce the birthdays every month. These will be posted on our Batch FB group.
- Belle: We also have our core na. Marami sila pero that’s because we wanted to get a core member from each block sa batch.
- Rejam: Members will composed of the block representatives. We have also divided our core na into different groups para iba-iba ima-manage nila.
- Andi: Thanks Belle and Rejam! Does anyone have any questions for them?
- Mario: I-streamline niyo ‘yong mga gusto niyong gawin with the current initiatives ng mga other councillors. You have to somehow blend what you want with what the council is already doing.
- Belle: Yes. We will coordinate with the councillors rin regarding our projects.
- Jaro: I’d like to clarify something regarding the batch directory. Can you explain more on how you’re going to handle this?
- Belle: It’s going to include links to office in UP Diliman, important links and announcements, acad drive, etc.
- Jaro: You mentioned putting the batch directory inside the batch drive, can you clarify that?
- Rejam: The batch directory won’t be included in the batch drive.
- Jaro: What I’m trying to say lang is that it’s not really advisable to disclose the batch directory to your batchmates for privacy reasons. For the “Tips from Seniors”, baka you can expand it and include not just seniors but upperclassmen in general because they will be really busy because of their thesis. For your advocacy week, you can coordinate with Third for that kasi STRAW related initiative siya. Finally, you’re familiar with the BRA Outreach this sem and the beneficiaries will be displaced workers in UP.
- Jaro: Motion to extend for 5 minutes.
- Shin: I second the motion.
- Andi: The motion has been seconded you may continue.
- Jaro: Let’s just make sure that our plans won’t come in conflict with one another. Instead of making a seperate donation drive, maybe you can work with us na lang as part of the Batch Rep Alliance. Reminder lang din as a freshie for the freshie merch. Be careful lang with the designs kasi apparently may mga designs na bawal gayahin because of copyright issues. Be careful with that. I suggest that you make the design freshie specific, in a sense that it will become a batch shirt. I understood kasi that you want to make it a university thing. I think kasi that mas lalaki sales niyo if you make it a freshie thing kasi they would be more excited for it. I also want to ask regarding your budget proposal: next sem pa naman siya right, since it’s for the Advocacy week?
- Belle: Yes, it’s for next sem.
- Jaro: Your budget proposal should be for this sem. If you’re going to need a budget for this sem, maybe we can discuss it privately.
- Cami: We’re going to be coming up with the Electives 101 this sem with you guys. It’s a collaboration between Freshie batch reps and Sophie batch reps. Gia and I will talk to you guys na lang regarding the event. I also want to ask: will you guys still have text brigs?
- Rejam: Yes. Pero hindi pa complete directory namin since we’re still updating it.
- Cami: Ihati niyo ‘yong batchmates niyo for the text brigs kasi yon naging problem namin ni Third last year as batch representatives. Another question: will the advocacy group be for freshies lang rin?
- Belle: Originally, our plan is for it to be exclusive to freshies lang pero pwede naman naming i-open sa school.
- Cami: Will it be in partnership with BRA and will it be posted publicly?
- Belle: Yes, it will be posted hopefully on the council page.
- Emman: Two concerns: tutorials and ‘yong batch drive. As long as may rep kayo sa acad alliance, the tutorials can be coursed through him/her naman. For the batch drive, how is it going to be substantially different from the acad kit ng Edres? I think you should focus on the GEs na wala sa acad kit. Word of warning lang, ingat sa mga ibibigay sa inyo ng profs niyo kasi may threat of legal action ‘yan. Acad kit is mostly safe from that kasi when those materials were released, there weren’t restrictions naman.
- Andi: Anymore questions or clarifications? I want to commend you guys rin kasi your plans are really nice and clean. Talk to Third for any events para ma-include siya sa council calendar.
AKWE Updates (c/o Vice Chairperson)
- Mitch: Hi everyone. For the AKWE program, medyo final na siya. 8 PM siya magsta-start. I will be giving the opening remarks tapos ice breakers will be done by the FBR. Si Andi magbibigay ng welcome message. Tapos may allotted time for entering the games. Jaro and JC will be hosting these games. Game 1 for 40 mins tapos intermission care of the JBR. Game 2 for 30 mins lang tapos closing remarks si Mario na. The game masters will take over once Jaro and JC explains the mechanics. For the Ice Breaker, the FBR will be handling this. Send the mechanics na lang to the hosts and send the file to M&P by October 1.
- Skribbl: Tapos na mechanics niya. We’ll coordinate with M&P for the logistics of it, pero si Cami naman na magstrea-stream. Si Gia muna magho-host in place of Jc para makapagpahinga siya. FBR will be taking note of the scores, so you have to add the scores of the groups/batches. Also, naayos na nila Cami and Gia ‘yong timer.
- Intermission and Kahoot Mechanics: Medyo chikahan lang ‘yan tapos magkakaroon ng short game. My suggestion is 4 pics 1 word. Shin or EJ will introduce the mechanics of the kahoot. Tapos afterwards, isa sa kanila magiging host in place of Jaro para makapagpahinga rin siya. Ongoing pa ‘yong kahoot game creation, send it na lang sa M&P October 1.
- Sa prizes: Php 1800 for the winners. Php 300 each for the 3 winners of the Kahoot. Php 300 for the winner of skribbl and 200 for the 2 teammates. For the 4 pics 1 word game if JBR will push through with it, the prize is Php 100. Guess the movie challenge Php 100. The options are Paymaya, BDO, BPI, and Gcash for sending the winners their prizes. Dahil October 2 ‘yong akwe natin, october 3 makikipag-coordinate ‘yong mga Freshie reps sa winners.
- Andi: Thank you Mitch! Does anyone have any questions.
- Jaro: For the prizes, gusto mo bang gawing Php 200 ‘yong prize?
- Mitch: If kaya naman, better.
- Andi: Mitch, kumusta ‘yong sign-ups for AKWE?
- JC: So ngayon, Mayroong 25 people na nag-sign up for AKWE. Leading ‘yong freshmen, sobrang enthusiastic nila.
- JC: So far, we have 16 players for the freshies, 6 from the sophies, 2 from the seniors, and, lastly, 1 from the juniors.
- Jaro: Motion to extend by 5 minutes.
- Mario: Second the motion.
- Andi: The motion has been seconded. Question: while the games are ongoing, we will all be in the discord right?
- Mitch: Yup! Baka mga 7:45 pwede na tayong pumasok sa discord server. For the server pala M&P, council ba or separate for the discord server?
- Haqq: Same na lang sa idi-discuss naming discord server mamaya for the Freshie tour.
- Mitch: Ila-live natin siya sa FB Page ng council. Si Third sasalo if ever na mawalan ng net either si Jaro or si JC para may contingency na rin tayo.
- Andi: Good job Mitch! Good Job sa AKWE committee.
Minecraft and Freshie Tour Updates (c/o Media and Publicity Councillors)
- Haqq: So guys, for the minecraft, ‘yong pinakauna nating gagawin for publicity will be to release a video this Sunday. Premier ng mismong teaser for minecraft will be on 7 PM. So bale sa 10 mins na ‘yon may videos na iko-collate namin all showing different memories in UPSE. Para mag-build tayo ng hype for that Sunday video, magsha-share tayo ng mga pubs or pictures ng mga different places sa UPSE Minecraft. Magse-send na lang kami ni Kyla ng detailed and scheduled plan by tomorrow. For the Freshie tour, ano mas prefer niyo Wednesday or Friday kasi kasama kayo sa magtou-tour. Iho-hold namin ‘to sa discord. Makikipag-coordinate kami nila Kyla sa mga Batch reps kasi 20 lang ‘yong pwede sa server. If kunwari 100 ‘yong freshie, para mabilis hahatiin natin siya into 4 groups. Also, magkakaroon ng 4 na paths para maikot natin ‘yong econ. Within that tour, mayroon tayong mga minigames na nakatago around the places para pwede rin silang maglibot on their own around econ para lang mahanap ‘yong mga clues and everything. Estimated time is 30 mins so if ever na 30 mins magiging 2.5 hours ‘yong tours pero let’s set it at 3 hours. Paano natin sila bibigyan ng minecraft? Magpre-prepare kami ng pub of instructions to be distributed via batch reps. Free naman and legal ‘yong launcher for Minecraft.
- Shin: Question, paano if wala kaming Twitter or IG? How can we support the event?
- Haqq: Kahit Facebook stories naman, okay na.
- Mario: Bakit next week Friday or Wednesday ‘yong choices?
- Haqq: Para we can get done with it na kasi medyo mapupuno na tayo ng gawain eh.
- Mario: Okay. I-poll mo na lang sa facebook kung ano mas preferred ng council.
- Andi: I’d like to commend you guys rin kasi sobrang cute ng idea of the freshie tour. I’m sure the freshies will really appreciate it.
STRAW Updates - (c/o STRAW-Sec Councillor)
- Third: First, I’d like to update you guys na rin with regards to Dear STRAW. I have received a grievance, pero it’s not really a grievance in the usual sense. A student opened up about how hard the online classes are especially during the pandemic. Unfortunately, the student did not leave any contact details so there really is no way for us to help. I just want to remind everyone that these grievances are very welcome. SESC is always open to these types of grievances or Dear STRAW submissions. Batch reps, as per our talk last night, please kumustahin niyo batchmates niyo through a brig. Hopefully by Saturday tapos na. Freshie, I know that hindi pa kayo tapos sa directory niyo, pero kahit through messenger na lang muna. Once it’s done, pls brig na rin. I also want to update you guys with regards to my core and our progress sa mga initiatives namin. For our mental health pubs, to be released October 16, I have alredy sent the content and suggested layout to M&P. With regards to Tuklas, we have already started contacting partners for it and as of now, we have 11 org partners. This has been somewhat difficult because onti lang talaga nagre-reply na mga orgs maybe because of the pandemic na rin. We also have the STRAW over the quarantine pub, which will be a timeline of all STRAW related events since the start of the quarantine.
- Third: Motion to extend for 5 mins.
- Mario: I second the motion.
- Andi: Motion has been seconded.
- Third: Lastly, for the UPSE 101. It’s not going to contain just links to UP offices anymore, I also included a directory to mental health services, basically free counselling. These are open to all naman. I also included a link to Dear STRAW and a link to the UPSE helpdesk para lang ma-streamline ‘yong requests for documents. Batch reps, expect by tonight or tomorrow, I’ll send the pubs and caption na.
- Andi: Thanks Third! Good job sa paghanap ng mga orgs for Tuklas!
EdRes Updates (c/o Education and Research Councillor)
- Emman: Hello everyone. I will be talking about research, event partnerships, and the acad alliance.
- For research: Thank you sa M&P! We will be releasing an edition of ECONcepts tomorrow evening, October 1. It’s on the economics of education during the pandemic. Sana basahin natin ‘to and i-share sa mga batches because it’s very insightful.
- Partnerships: So for our event partnerships, we have Debate 101 and our talk on financial literacy. For Debate 101, pumirma na ng MOA si UPDS so okay na siya. We’re planning to prepare by tomorrow na for the event. We will be moving the event to October 17. It’s not going to be only about the basics of debate but also how to use that in the remote learning setup. For the finlit talk, magme-meet kami with IC to discuss the final details of the event. We’re moving it rin to October 24. Worst case scenario, ma-move siya to November.
- Acad Alliance: Consolidated system natin for tutorials will be up by this weekend. This will include kung paano magre-request ng isang tutorial. Ang ginawa namin is mayroon nang form to fill out para makapaghanap ng mga tutors for those tutorials. Mayroon ng masterfile compiling all necessary info, like kung anong org for finding turtors for that specific tutorial. Unang magse-sense sa batch gc mga acad heads, pag naka-reach ng 15 students ang nagsabi na need nila ng tutorial, you will be proceeding with the form request. Ita-tap agad namin ‘yong assigned na org. Ang magiging role ng acad alliance ay to setup the Zoom meeting and ‘yong pag-record ng event for inclusion in the acad kit.
- Statements: Heads up sa M&P, we will be also having statements in October for World Teacher’s Day and Mental Health Month. I’ll send the pub requests by tonight and I’ll be sending the statement by Friday for the Teacher’s Day statement and by Monday for the Mental Health Month statement.
- Andi: Thank you Emman! Good job on the systems kahit online na lahat.
Partnership Proposals (c/o Ways and Means Councillor)
- Jaro: Today we have four things to discuss. First is BareFoot. They’ll be having two talk shows in celebration of the National Indigenous Peoples Month. Please vote on the chat na lang if we are going to accept this partnership proposal. Secondly, the Junior Achievement Philippines has this program kung saan magpapa-test sila and they can certify you as a Registered Business Professional. It’s not really a partnership proposal pero I can send this to the reps na lang for dissemination. Next we have Silakbo from the UP Educators’ Circle. They will be having 5 competitions for the event. For your reference, here are the packages for partnership.
- Mario: To clarify, it’s either we donate or we contribute with likes and shares?
- Jaro: I’ll clarify this with the org, but I think it’s safe to say that option A only means we have to donate money, while with option B, we have to provide likes and shares.
- Andi: Who are the beneficiaries of the donations?
- Jaro: The event is for Junior High School and Senior High School students.Last one is from UP Ecosoc, they'll be having a talk about responsible social media use and content creation. I think this has already been coordinated with our Education and Research Councilor. Emman?
- Emman: Yes!
- Jaro: I was able to negotiate with the Vice President for Academic Affairs of UP Ecosoc and instead of 10 attendees to the event, we can send 5 na lang. You can vote nalang sa zoom chat. Take note na lang natin na October 2, Friday ‘yong event.
- Mario: Motion to extend by 3 minutes.
- EJ: I second the motion.
- Andi: The motion has been seconded. Jaro, continue.
- Jaro: Okay, I have 10. We’ll push through with this partnership. I’ll coordinate with you guys na lang with regards to attendance.
- Jaro: I would like to update you guys na rin sa progress ng team ko. Right now we’re in the process of sending out partnership proposals to target organizations and companies for the BRA outreach. Hopefully by next week we are able to post the links na to the donation drive. For the opportunities portal and resume bank, mago-open na by next week. For M&P, my core members will coordinate with you para malagay natin sa SESC website. For partnerships, so far so good, we have 9 partnerships plus the partnerships we have approved today. I would like to thank everyone for engaging and complying with the requirements. For e-store and small scale IGPs, we are still finalizing the income generating projects. We have concerns about the sustainability and logistics of it. Next week we’ll be releasing a pub for the sale of merch.
Dilgames Updates (c/o Econ Rep)
- Mario: To be clear lang, I will be handling this since we don’t have a SAC councillor for the interim term. The dilgames will be transitioning to a virtual setup which will include COD, ML, Valorant, DOTA 2, LOL, and Smash. Magkaka-freshie tournament rin including ML, Calorant, and LOL. I have already coordinated with the Freshie batch reps with regards to this. Nakakatuwa actually kasi when it comes to participation, we have people in all games. Sobra-sobra pa nga ‘yong gustong mag-laro for the sports.
- Andi: Thanks Mario!
Other Matters
- Andi: Any other matters? Mitch?
- Mitch: Gusto ko lang kyong palalahanan na i-upload na ‘yong resumes niyo by tonight.
- Andi: this has been extended a lotof times na so please upload your resumes already!
- Third: Question lang for Emman, are we required to intern for NYC?
- Emman: I’m not sure pero ang sinabi lang is that we need to provide at least 20 members of council or core for the OB.
- Third: Oh okay, can you clarify it na lang kasi today deadline ng applications for interns.
- Andi: I also want to clarify if ang requirement is for interns only or pwede ring TL? Kasi every year, they open applications for both.
- Emman: I’ll clarify with the conveners, pero last I’ve received from the BOD was nagpa-consult sila with a certain endorsement.
