I. ORSEM Evaluations - Internals Councilor
  • Giselle:
    • Strengths – kahit papaano, most of the batch were able to participate cause in Zoom, more than 50 naman yung participants. In the facebook games, they also participated and we’re part of the group chat ng freshies and they’re super g to participate. The batch is bibo rin so it helped. Naging okay rin yung pagka-schedule ng events. Like after lunch, i didn’t expect that they would be readily available and a lot participated.
    • Weaknesses – Hard to start on time especially if it’s online since it takes awhile for them to enter and the waiting time is long to get to the number of participants we want. The connectivity rin is a problem cause iba iba. And we really can’t schedule a good event. Like at night, it was hard cause it was dinner. Then if it’s a little later, people would say it’s late naman. For online, you can’t tansya the schedule of people. Even in the afternoon. You can’t be assured with the amount of people who would come based on the time. Another weakness is that even if you want the event to be interactive it won’t be as interactive cause medyo awkward online and makakatakas sila with the use of them being shy or mahina yung internet.
    • Opportunities – Activities can still be made online. And we can look at more ways to adapt to make our events more creative.
    • Threats – Internet talaga is a problem. Especially now that it’s raining so you can’t really have stable internet sometimes.
  • Josh: I asked Giselle to make a SWOT analysis since it’s the first online event and this is to ensure the next council would know how to plan for online events and they have guidelines on how to proceed with it. I’d like to commend Giselle rin cause it’s the first ever online orsem and it was hard to implement the idea to the event. And it’s good that minimum attendees natin is 85. And that’s alot. Marami rin nagparticipate and no one left in the middle of the zoom. She had to innovate on something old and she adapted to the current situation.
  • Andi: If ever we have online events, is it possible to use other mediums other than zoom? Like if discord or whatever?
  • Giselle: Im sorry I don’t know what discord is
  • Mitch: Ginagamit yun for games
  • Josh: In council kasi we use zoom, but the interim council can try using it
  • Andi: May limit lang yung video.

II. Suspending Provisions of the SESC Constitution
  • Josh: With regards to the incumbent, we need to suspend:
    • Art. 4, Sec.4 of the constitution and Art. 4, Sec. 3.
    • Art. 8, Sec. 1(a), for appointment regarding vacancies.
  • Josh: There is no need to suspend the provisions on the mandate. The IRR will just supplement the Constitution. We just need to make sure that there are still people who will be taking up the powers of the positions of the SESC. Andi is implementing a skeletal workforce for the SESC.
  • Andi: Positions for the skeletal workforce are- Chairperson, Vice-Chair (only for ASEO), and Econ. Rep to the USC.
    • For councilors (5 nalang matitira): EdRes, STRAW and Secretariat is merged (for grievances), MARC and Fin are merged (Ways and Means Councilor), and 2 M&Ps.
    • Normal Batch Reps but minimum 1 per batch but we still aim on getting 2
  • Josh: This is mentioned in the IRR
  • Je: Since iba yung magiging composition shouldn’t Art. 1 also?
  • Josh: If we do, mawawala yung composition. We are just merely combining the positions maintaining the obligations based on the constitution. Merged councilors will still have the mandate on both the positions. Suspending it would allow the councilors to do whatever they want.
  • Andi: Right we’re temporarily suspending it, so in the future, do we have to vote to reinstate it?
  • Josh: Yes. Don’t forget.
  • Maui: Baka we can just put sa pub ng interim council para they know what positions are merged
  • Josh: Yes, Inayos na yun ni Andi and Orallo don’t worry.
  • Je: Sa UFC, they will have a holdover. What if we elect someone na sasalang sa UFC. Will Erika take over the holdover? Di ba she’s currently UFC, so bea is still currently the chairperson. So what will happen to Erika?
  • Josh: Sa IRR natin, if 75% of the freshies can vote online. If they get to elect someone to the UFC, then Erika will vacate it. Kailangan niyo na to’ bagsakan.
  • Je: Motion to temporarily suspend Art. 4, Sec.4, Art. 4, Sec. 3 and Art. 8, Sec. 1(a) until election can be held.
  • Josh: There is a standing motion. Those In favor of suspending the constitution, please still aye. *all in favor*. Those not in favor, please say nay. The ayes have it. The specific provisions have been suspended and the IRR is implemented.
