    • Random News: Andi Eigenmann vs Jake Ejercito
  • Sidhi
    • Francis:  Basically  Sidhi  will  be  releasing  a  univ-wide  issue
    • It's  gonna  maintain  an  UPSE-publication
    • The  EdBoard  thought  that  a  release  such  as  this  will  be  about  the  ST  system.
      • We  want  to  make  this  univ-wide  because  this  affects  all  students
      • We  can  bridge  between  the  need  and  the  information  of  the  people  about  the  topic
    • It  will  still  be  in  the  same  format  as  last  year's.
    • We're  going  to  give  a  brief  background  about  the  ST  system,  tuition fee  over  the  years
    • We  want  to  tell  the  people  the  current  state  of  discourse  is
    • We  want  to  put  the  perspectives  of  students  in  the  issue
    • Questions
      • Howie: Will this be objective?
        • Francis:  Yes,  purely    information.  We'll  use  data  to  qualify  it.
      •  Chito:  When  do  you  plan  to  release  this?
        • Early  December
      •  Gabbi:  How  do  you  plan  to  produce  this  manpower-wise?  Why  did  you  not  do  this  last  year?
        • For    the    first    question:    We    wanted    to    coordinate    with    SEAC    heads    first.
        • Second:    We    didn't    know    that    we    could    produce    an    issue.
      •  Jackie:    What is your way of engaging the authorities?
        • Thru    student    councils
      •  Aaron:    What    are    your    target    distribution    points?
        • Key    colleges    like    Palma    Hall,    Math;    dorms    also;    some    copies    for    admin;    Vinzons
      •  Chito:    So there is no need to come up with a unified stance?
        • F:    No    stance
      •  Pat:    Where    would    we    get    the    budget    for    this?
        • F:    We    have    a    budget    for    this.
      •  Pat:    So    Econ    would    be    paying    for    everything?
        • F:    No,    we'll    have    IGPs    as    well
      •  Chito:    I    think    you    should    prepare    for    backlash    for    this.    Let's    show    that    we    are    critical    people.
      •  Howie:    What    is    the    final    output?
        • F:    A    broadsheet
      •  Carlos:    I    suggest    that    it    shouldn't    look    like    everyone    in    Econ    believes    in    a    certain    opinion    or    stance,    because    a    lot    of    people    believe    otherwise.
  • Chairperson Plans
    • I    want    to    have    the    Vanguard    Project,    where    we    monitor    the    programs    of    the    Duterte    administration    through    interviews    with    government    officials;    hoping    to    have    media    relaxations    and    publicity    and    all    that.
  • Talking    with    Jem,    Howie,    and    Chito,    I    want    to    release    aner    the    first    100    days    of    the    Duterte    Administration
  • Since    we    already    have    all    our    projects    for    this    sem,    I    want    to    ask    Kiss    to    compile    it    to    make    it    as    a    presentation    for    the    administration.    I    think    this    would    come    handy    for    our    Lantern    Parade,    to    bring    in    more    people    to    the    fold
    •  Kiss:    You    can    do    that    on    Oct.    22,    the    Alumni    Homecoming
  • For    SESC    Open    Consultation
    •  More    than    once    a    semester,    I    want    to    make    it    more    frequent
    • I    want    them    to    know    that    we    are    open    to    consultation
  • Internal    Goals    of    Council
    •  Transparency    and    Supportiveness
    •  It    would    be    good    to    find    ways    how    to    help    our    co-Council    Members,    esp.    with    our    central-function    councilors
    •  Aside    from    working    on    our    projects,    let's    make    sure    to    have    effective    communication    with    our    constituents
    • Let's    make    sure    that    we    carry   our    branding    everywhere
  • If    you    need    help    with    your    events,    please    ask    for    help    when    you    need    it
  • Chito:    I hope we can empower Sidhi as they are essential in our community.
Registration Evals
  • Lem:    Thank    you    very    much    for    bearing    with    me    during    registration
  • It    extended    until    next    week,    Wednesday
  • A    problem    was    I    didn't    use    a    google    sheet,    I    used    a    form.    You    weren't    able    to    see    the    shifts,    so    on    the    shifts    wherein    there    was    no    people,    I    took    a    shift.
  • Good    points:    we    were    able    to    provide    printing.    I'd    like    to    commend    Jem    for    being    there    for    most    of    the    shins.    I    really    saw    the    SESC-ness    in    Jem,    he    kept    his    cool
  • Chito:    We    could've    had    a    meeting    on    what    will    be    done    during    enrollment    to    collect    suggestions    and    other    comments    to    make    enrollment    easier    for    the    other    students.
  • Howie:    Batch    directory?    Lem:    The    batch    reps    weren't    able    to    send    me    batch    directories    so    I    wasn't    able    to    provide    one    during    the    council    booth.    Jackie:    The    reason    why    we    couldn't    give    one    is    because    we    don't    have    a    batch    directory.    Lem:    The    best    thing    we    could    do    now    is    to    talk    to    your    batchmates.    Let's    update    it    by    the    second    semester.
  • Chito:    Maybe    we    can    have    a    pub    when    it    comes    to    the    council    fee.    We    can    also    set    up    a    meeting    with    RVC    next    time.    Lem:    They    don't    want    that,    they    only    give    limited    information    to    us.    Jackie:    what    they    can    do    next    time    is    to    give    information    as    fast    as    possible.
  • Emira:    What    happened    to    us    was    that    I    talked    to    Lean    and    Nikuo,    and    then    I    relay    the    questions    to    them    and    give    the    answers    to    my    batchmates.    Gabbi:    I    had    the    same    concern    regarding    registration,    we    did    the    same    thing.
  • Chito:    We    can    change    the    trend    next    time,    wherein    we    can    have    a    larger    part    during    enrollment.    Let's    not    have    a    divide    between    RVC    and    council.    Carlos:    What    happens    in    other    colleges    to    have    context?    Chito:    The    council    and    the    RVC    coordinate    with    each    other.    We    should    basically    have    a    larger    role    in    this.    ○
  • Gabbi:    Is    it    possible    that    they    have    a    Representative    in    our    booth?    Pat:    Maybe    the    one    situated    near    SE    105    for    the    validation.
  • Jackie:    Can    we    have    a    role    when    it    comes    to    delegations?    Our    batchmates    had    a    concern    with    getting   subjects,    especially    in    BA.    Maybe    we    can    raise    our    concern    to    the    admin    especially    because    they    can't    get    subjects    that    are    required    as    per    their    curriculum.    Tin:    For    accounting,    they    only    get    econ    students    and    not    BE    students.
  • Carlos:    Chito,    please    talk    to    the    BA    rep    to    see    what    the    situation    is.    Jem,    please    talk    to    Ma'am    Abrenica    re:    BA    and    accounting    subjects    so    we    can    know    the    situation.    Hopefully    next    time    we    won't    have    these    problems.    Kiss:    Based    on    experience,    the    BA    RVC    and    the    admin    are    sometimes    not    well-informed.    There's    miscommunica2on.    Pat:    What    BA    argues    is    that    we    have    alternative    classes    here    so    they're    some2mes    madamot    with    slots.    Jackie:    There    was    a    BA    101    with    35    slots.    We    lined    up    for    it    but    they    said    that    Econ    students    will    only    be    entertained    the    following    day.    The    following    day,    the    class    was    dissolved.    ○
  • Carlos:    The    best    way    we    can    approach    this    is    through    admin    talks.    Batch reps,    please    compile    all    the    cases.    Jem,    let's    talk    to    ma'am    Abrenica    so    we    can    see    what    we    can    do    about    it.
Org Fair Launch Updates and Evals
  • Pat: Good points, sobrang daming people na nasa launch. Ang daming freshies. Kahit walang mics, we were able to push through with the program. 'Yung setup, naging hilo-hilo, kaya medyo na-late yung ibang booths na makapag-set up. The Org Fair was moved earlier because of Ecosoc's comment to move it because of Ecosoc Month. All org heads agreed naman.
  • Paje: Sana shorter yung video kasi medyo awkward for the freshies. And sana na-brief yung org heads about what they were going to do.
  • Comments
    • Chito: Sana ma-improve yung Council Booth, para magmukhang appealing para puntahan ng tao
  • Carlos: Maybe we can benefit more if we have everyone updated about the Org Fair.
  • Aaron: What about documentation?
    • Carlos: Tin, I hope next time may Core member na mag d-document ng events naPn
  • Consensus: Batch Reps are in-charge of the Council Booth for Org Fairs
  • Carlos: Let's make sure that the Core sign-up sheets are already there in the morning, and to be passed in the afternoon.
Shiftees and Transferees' Orientation
  • Good points: Maagang nag-start mag send-out ng letters
  • Points for improvement: Gabbi: Yung hosting namin ni Aaron
  • Kevin: Yung ibang orgs kasi hindi pwede kaya medyo nahirapan kami, because of the suspension
  • Jackie: Sana may music. Secondly, sana 'wag puro talk. Sana may ice breaker kahit papaano.
  • Chito: Sana merong ST Facebook group.
  • Jackie: Isang concern pala namin is for the batches, because we don't know their year standing.
  • Carlos: I think we could ask the Admin about this and clarify the issue about STs, through the Batch Reps
Freshie Rep Election
  • Kevin: Dalawa lang yung nag-file, and na-orient na sila. Ise-send na lang yung pictures kay Tin for editing. The Convocation will be on Aug 23, Aug 24 ang elections from 8AM-5PM
  • Gabbi: For the room, tomorrow kami magpa-pass.
  • Kevin: For logistics, we need volunteers for election day.
  • Carlos: Can you make a sheet na lang for volunteers (with Pme) para may tao sa Election booth
  • Carlos: Also, sana may program rin ng convocation. Just post it in the group.
  • Chito: Let's do our part in making hatak freshies to vote to avoid a failure of elections
Econ Rep to the UFC
  • Kevin: As a batch, they already decided as that there are already Batch RepresentaPves and an Econ Rep to the UFC
  • Chito: I'm asking permission to open the posiPon of Econ Rep to the UFC.
  • Carlos: So the UFC Rep will not come from the batch reps?
    • Chito: Yes
  • Carlos: We tried that model before, however we had problems with communicaPon because he was not part of Council. Also, baka ma-burn out sila ng malala.
  • Chito: Isa pang problema, very tight ang schedule natin. Hindi natin pwedeng hintayin na manalo muna ang Batch Reps.
  • Consensus: Council motions stands: One of the Batch Representatives will be the UFC Rep
Acquaintance Party
  • Aug 26 is the date
  • Paje: We already have a caterer and we're working on having a
    photobooth
    • I just need batch performances from the Batch Reps
    • Guidelines
      • Nothing that extends 5 mins (including entrance and exit)
      • Anything goes
      • Make it as fun, bongga, and competitive as possible
      • The batch who wins will have additional points in Schoolympics
  • We have three games, two of which will be played by Batches.
  • For the sports teams, I hope we can have intro about them
  • Howie: Pwede rin tayong mag-collate there for Batch Directory
  • Kiss: Menu includes: Fried chicken, sweet and sour fish fillet, and spagheS, with rice.
  • Chito: Sa ngayon lang, do we have sponsors?
    • Paje: Not yet. What i told my Core, if may mahanap for freebies, then okay. If wala, then not.
  • Joel: Paki-send na lang yung budget niyo for Acquaintance.
  • Carlos: Let's try to trim our budget, like sa food and sa photobooth. For the food, let's try to haggle it further.
  • Kiss: for the food, I hope makuha na yung price ng food tomorrow.
  • Consensus: Carlos: Food and photobooth rates for tonight
    • Carlos: Paano yung publicity? What about hatak?
    • Paje: Actually, it's for tonight, ginagawa ni Nica and Yanna. And for hatak, sa Batch reps sana.
OrSem Evals
*Commendador leaves 6:26pm*
  • Points for improvement?
  • Pat: I think it was smooth. Maayos yung communicaPon with SEAC and Council
  • Jem: Sana next time, 'wag Audi ang kunin, since it was a little bit big for the small batch
Council Shirts and Dri-fits
  • Kiss: Its Php 380 for the single polo shirt. Php393 for the dri-fit shirt.
  • Jem: I'll try to canvass about the rates. Tin, please send me the design.
Thesis Seminar
  • Aaron: It's gonna be held on a Wednesday, August 24. There were conflicts with SEAC orgs rin. We also told the speakers na na-move yung date to next Wednesday.
  • The speakers will be Christine Barachini and John Elmar Aniciete
Thesis Class Professor Concern
  • Jem: There was an Econ 199 class, Esguerra, that was suddenly transferred to Ma'am Edita Tan. Students panicked and were a little upset. Ma'am Tan will teach Sir Esguerra's 199, and Esguerra wil teach Tan's 181. Admin said this is due to her (Ma'am Tan's) cataract surgery. We feel that this could be improved by admin pa. We'll be talking to Ma'am Krafty and ensure that in the future, this could be solved in a way that students won't have a hard time about it.
Kapekonomiya and NYC
  • Jem: Final na yung date, Sept. 30. Venue is SE Audi. The topic is Kapekonomiya: Pederalismo. Target speakers are Ma'am Monsod for economics, the prof from Pol Sci. We plan to get two legislators, Koko Pimentel (for pro) and Dick Gordon (anti). We started contacting corporate sponsors (starting tomorrow)
  • For NYC, date is Final (November 18-20)
    • They have co-presenter is New York Times, CNN has confirmed but has yet to choose a package
    • Booked na ang GT Toyota, pencil-booked with Univ Hotel for accommodations
    • Physics Audi admin is a little jumpy about it
    • They plan to have rebrand Inkonomics into Luxe
    • No speakers confirmed yet.
    • No schools have confirmed.
Acad Alliance
  • Jem: I hope we can get members for acad alliance before we release anything regarding acads. I've talked to Acad Execommers of SEAC orgs; we're just waiting for Academic Directors per batch for better communication
ETC Debt
  • Jem: Apparently, Council has outstanding debt with ETC for Kapekonomiya
STRAW Updates
  • Howie: Baka i-move ko ang STRAW workshop sa September 1
  • I also need more time to prepare; I also want to convene my Core
  • I'd also like to invite admin for this (for First-Aid workshop)
  • I'll also put up CLAYGO signs earlier tomorrow.
  • I'll talk to Ma'am KraA about the case of Econ 131 students
  • Medicine kit will be finalized next week
  • Chito: Are there any pending cases with STRAW?
    • Howie: none so far
  • Carlos: What about the Laforteza case?
    • Howie: ma'am Abrenica was not replying. i'll talk to her
