Summary of the Meeting:
*Meeting ended 5:40pm*
- GA Tidbits c/o House ErwAnne
- World: China launches first domestically-built carrier
- National: Death penalty is dead – Drilon
- UP: Petition to withdraw honoring Duterte with honoris causa law degree – in UP Diliman
- Other: Carla Estrada throws surprise party for Daniel Padilla
- STRAW updates
- Howie: Compared to last sem, Tuklas had more org partners, though I'd like to point out that Amnesty International did not show up na because they were busy; also hindi na nagpakita ang Philippine Cancer Society. The pre-event preps was okay naman and the pubs was okay naman, though there was an isolated comment that it was able to reach a lot of people, though when you check it, we have 5k shares.
- *Morada arrived 4:45 pm*
- Howie: Attendance wasn't as good as last sem. I wasn disappointed lang din with Council since may people na nag-sign up sa shifts, pero hindi sumipot. It's expected na pag nag-sign up kayo, sana pumunta kayo. This time, hindi nagkaroon ng org partners' MOA, so dapat magkaroon na rin ng ganon next time. I also think that the Old Tambayan area was not that visible to the other people.
- Paje arrived 4:47 pm
- Howie: The NGOs were okay lang naman, though I was worried na on Friday morning since medyo patay yung number of people na pumupunta.
- Jackie: Additional na lang siguro: since hindi sa front, maraming nag-assume na doon pa rin and hindi nila nakita sa Old Tambayan.
- Pat: Sa back kasi, konti lang yung dumadaan sa corridor na yun., so it’s very hard to know about it.
- Chito: From what we saw, okay lang naman na maging back up yung Old Tambayan space. Siguro next time, mag Walkway tayo, tapos pag may ulan, ilipat na lang sa tambayan space.
- Bets: I think we should've had signs around the area and sa Council booth since hindi alam nung ibang people yung gagawin with the tickets and all.
- Howie: For medkit and first-aid kit, I'd like to request more meds na lang and funds from Joel. I'll just repub the DearSTRAW na lang through the batch reps. For the parking database, ang gusto ko na lang is to have many respondents as possible, tapos next year na lang yung printing of the guidelines. Last one, napapansin na rin ng students na malamok na yung Econ, so I'll request na lang ng fumigation from Ma'am Kraft.
- EdRes Updates
- Jem: I messaged Beata, and Mikhail to write for the Free Market, but I'll pub on Friday the article of Vegamora. Econcepts is ready to release right after, so Sunday for better reach. We had a tutorial last week for Econ 106. Option na yung lounge aircon part for tutorials. I'm planning to organize tutorials for 101, 102 and 106 Balanquit. For the four-sem paper, hindi pa siya tapos, but we'll turn it over at the end of the sem to Ma'am Magno.
- Carlos: On May 1, we need to release a statement about Labor Day, and they often ask us our stand on contractualization, so we need to formulate a statement na by then.

- Schoolympics updates
- Earl: So yung venue, nagkaproblema since nung sinabi na kailangan ng ipa-finalize yung venue, hindi pala siya available by that time, so I'm trying to contact Kyle from BA para malaman kung magkano sa Ateneo Grade School.
- Pat: Last year, when we were arranging BEAST, we were also considering Ateneo, but kailangan kasi na may malaking hatak sa admin.
- Earl: As of now, yun lang yung alam ko so far na alternatives. But May 7 pa rin siya. So may two judges na tayo for streetdance. Kailangan ko pala ng water gallons na may gripo on the day itself, a frisbee disk, chess boards. For pub, internal pubmat na lang, that includes the rules sa games.
- Carlos: Kamusta yung gimiks niyo batch reps?
- Freshies: Okay na kami, need na lang polishing for steps, but okay na so far.
- Sophies: Dps are for next week na.
- Juniors: Practice tomorrow namin. And cover photo change kami
- Seniors: DP change next week, Friday ang practice ng streetdance

- MARC updates
- Kiss: So thank you Kevin for helping sa Econ@Work. Solid yung talk and speakers, and we also had Eina to talk about career opportunities and all. The program flow was also great. We were also able to get the room for free. The food was great thanks to OBEM. And the attendees really like the event and working partnership between Council and OBEM was great. When I asked Eina, the attendees were marami naman and she liked how the people during the case study were very receptive. There was low attendance since maraming make up classes by then (and low attendance turnout). We told tita Ronnie rin with the internship programs instead of career talks, and she was suggesting dates after Final Week, which will be focused more on financial sector jobs. I'd like to hear the thoughts of the batch reps, esp. juniors and seniors. We'll just finalize it with Tita Ronnie.
- TranSem & Legacy updates
- Carlos: The tentative date for Legacy is May 9 para as early as possible. Turnover will be on May 12, Friday. The recommendations of Head Office so far is that sa closed area siya gagawin, prolly 111 or 114. First part will be year-reminiscing. Next is Core recognition for the work that they've done. Third is Legacy awards. Usually, it was divided into the serious and the chummy awards. So later, I'll make a list of the chummy awards now and edit it. Next is turnover and oath-taking. Aside from that, we need recommendations for a theme.
- Fin updates
- Joel: So by tomorrow, uploaded na yung financial tracker. Then we might release souvenir pins for the seniors. For the Schoolympics, 24k na yung money, so kulang na lang is 4k for Earl's budget. I'll coordinate with Emira regarding their batch's shirt and I'll bring back the food sale next week.
