14.Other Matters:
1. GA Tidbits c/o House Papu's
- World: 64 year old shooter in Las Vegas open fired in the Route 91 Harvest music festival. It was the biggest mass shooting in history
- Local: Mocha Uson got slammed by netizens for playing victim of fake news
- UP: UP lost by 2 points against Adamson in UAAP 80 Basketball 71-73
- Random: All 3 billion yahoo accounts have been hacked
2. LCC Consultations c/o Yael and Paolo (15 mins)
- Yael: Thank you for answering the form and allowing us to conduct the consultation. During LCC GAs, there’s a college updates portion and it’s used to promote events etc. Problems are only said in passing. This is to delve into those problems and course it through the USC. We have Paolo from the STRAW Committee to help discuss these. We’ll also discuss the next steps and the point person after.
- Howie: The road might be too near the classrooms, tambayans and we might lose parking. We confirmed that each post to be moved is a million worth (6 in total). The walkway at the back which leads to the staircase will hit the building. The land is owned by UP but the building is owned by PCED. The dean feels like it will push through so we’re seeing how to go about it. Pollution is also a concern.
- Howie: If ever the way hits the building, they’ll need approval from the PCED board which is composed of Economics professors. Awhile ago, they inspected the area, and said that the Vinzons guard was the one who gave them permission to inspect since it’s already getting started in Vinzons.
- Howie: Ian and I got to talk to BAC as well. Our action step is to make a letter and gather signatures though we need to put it on hold before we are sure that they are breaking any DPWH laws.
- Yael: Around when will this be released?
- Howie: We aren’t sure yet since it depends on the go signal of the admin.
- Yael: The LCC can help in the campaign since it not only affects Econ and BA but also the people who go to class in Econ and BA.
- Howie: We might need help with drafting the letter.
- *Kayla arrives 5:21pm*
- Yael: It could be a case for the jeepney drivers since it will change the entire route.
- Jackie: It will also be a security concern considering how open Econ already is.
- Paolo: What is the rationale behind this?
- Howie: It’s a beautification project since they don’t want jeeps passing the oval.
- Miguel: So far, it’s supposed to be 10m away from the building, but they were looking at old maps so they didn’t see the stairwell. Dean Solon also said that if ever they do push through with it, they’ll need to build a wall as tall as the first floor and it needs to have plants.
- *Iyla and Jolo arrive 5:26pm*
- Howie: Basically, he doesn’t want people to see him passing.
- Miguel: Apparently, it isn’t only for jeeps. It’s also going to be open to cars.
- Yael: Aside from security, do you have other concerns?
- Howie: There were kids who went over the wall, so we’ll need more security at the back.
- Josh: Is there any news regarding the refund of tuition?
- Ian: No news yet.
- Josh: The gate in GT toyota requires ID even exiting so it causes traffic, and it’s already a bottleneck.
- Yael: The road at the back is specific to you guys so you’ll be coordinating with Cassie and STRAW regarding this. We’ll also be tapping BAC for this. For the consultation with Chancy, it’ll only be 2 hours, so I’m trying to compile everything first.
- Paolo: Cassie and I are starting to plan for Mental Health Week. Is there anything you want to partner with us?
- Josh: We’re having Open Mental Health Consultations in partnership with psychiatrists and guidance counsellors.
- Paolo: Is it okay if we forward this to other colleges so we can share resources?
- Josh: Sure.
3. Kapekonomiya c/o Iyla(10 mins)
- Iyla: Nescafe was the official coffee sponsor with a candy sponsor. We got ANC On The Money to cover the event, and most org partners (17 org partners) attended. We got speakers for all sides, but the labor side was the only anti, so it would have been nice to balance it out.
- Iyla; I think the projector was a good contingency plan, but it started to become a tambayan. The dynamics among the BOD was really good. So a suggestion to the next BOD is to make sure that they work well together.
- Iyla: We went a little over budget since there was maintenance fee. The speakers arrived before the crowd, so I was a little worried about the impression.
- Iyla: The national anthem didn’t have a minus one. The taskings got a little mixed up since there were volunteers on the day itself, so next time, there should be fair division of taskings between ETC and SESC. A lot of people had class during ingress time. We still need to get the evals from the people to better evaluate the event, but it was okay overall.
- Jackie: For the org partners, it would be nice to be strict with their attendance since a lot of them arrived past the call time since they tend to have an attitude once their seats are given up past the call time.
- Howie: There can be a penalty next time. I also like what Vjan did with the people since she asks if they’re an org partner, and when they’re not, she would bring them to free seats.
- Iyla: Next time, the incentives system should be put in the pub.
- Howie: The Audi is carpeted, so next time, we shouldn’t allow drinks inside.
- Jolo: Do you think only one laptop is enough? We had to distinguish walk-in from org partner, so maybe another could be added to separate them.
- Louise: There are also some org partners whose names weren’t in the list but asked to get the slots of those who weren’t going anymore from their org.
4. Council DP Release and Core DP Schedule c/o Joaquin (5 mins)
- Joaquin: EM wants all of us to have EM DPs, so it will be difficult to have our DP release around this week. Your cores can still take their pictures so we can be complete. We’ll hopefully release this Sunday.
5. Tuklas Evaluations c/o Josh (10 mins)
- Josh: The NGOs were happy because they got more exposure, and a lot of people were happy with the NGOs since it opened opportunities for them like jobs and charities.
- Josh: I checked the registration and it was balanced since there were a lot of unaffiliated. Shoutout to Cams and MARC for helping out especially with sponsors. There were 296 people who signed up.
- Jolo: Can you give the list of the unaffed to me?
- Kayla: I liked it this year. It was well-integrated and it was fun. I like that it wasn’t a week-long and it was on Thusday and Friday, so people were in a good mood.
- Jackie: I think the partners this year really put effort into setting up, and some of them even had something to give like opportunities.
- Iyla: The incentives of freebies were like a bonus to entice people, but the ones they were giving away were already enticing enough.
- Josh: The pubs had a really good reach.
- Howie: It helped that you posted on Thursday too so people knew there was more on Friday.
6. Internals Updates c/o Jolo (5 mins)
- Jolo: Tomorrow, we’ll be having our Teachers Day Initiative. Abec will be buying pastries then we’ll leave a note on it. We’ll follow it up in November if we have time. We’ll be serving free coffee next week (Tuesday-Wednesday) for our Hell Week Initiative.
- Jolo: I already have the recommendation letter. I’ll be working with Lance Cheng for it.
- Jolo: For the Scratch Paper Drive, I’ll be talking to Ms. Fe Dela Rosa for it.
- Jolo: I’m opening up sign ups for the Culminight-Lantern Parade BOD.
- Jolo: I still have GCs for Chubby Chicken, so you can use it for future events, but it’s expiring on October 15.
7. Open Consultations c/o Howie (5 mins)
- Howie: I plan to postpone it to next week since people have exams this week, so it’s a little more difficult to approach them. I’ll be giving guide questions.
- Jackie: You need to send letters to set up tables around Econ now.
8.Mental Health Open Consultations c/o Josh (5 mins)
- Josh: Next week is our Hell Week Initiative on Thursday, 11:30-1 at the Starback. On Friday, we have the pot breaking. In 2 weeks, we’ll be having the Mental Health Consultations. We’re sending letters to Philippine Mental Health centers, psychiatrists and doctors. The process is as follows: there will be an online pub and an on-ground pub. We’ll be matching those people who need help with the psychiatrists who will meet them at an agreed place.
- Josh: Please repub Dear STRAW in batch groups.
9. Silakbo Updates c/o Kevin (5 mins)
- Kevin: We got GLOBE for tents, so we have more profit. We have over 40k for profit now. Please come to support it in Technohub on October 16-20.
10.Schoolympics Schedule c/o Je (5 mins)
- Je: I’m hoping to have basketball and volleyball games on October 9.
- Howie: Can the freshies and sophies commit on a Monday?
- Angelo: Sure.
- Yana: Sure.
- Je: My backup date is Tuesday if not Monday. I’m looking into venues besides Blue Ridge like LGV and maybe La Vista since Teacher’s Village has a league that uses it.
11.Midsem Evaluations Schedule c/o Paje & Howie (5 mins)
- Howie: It is set for next next week, Friday in Yana’s House.
12.Edres Updates c/o Iyla (5 mins)
- Iyla: ETC is partnering with us for an FGD to be on November 9. I’m working with my core regarding the taskings like hosts etc.
- Iyal: NYC is releasing a pub tonight for sign ups for facilitators. All of us are automatically Facilitators, but you need to sign up still. Batch reps please post in your groups. It will be open to everyone in UPSE.
13.LCC GA Attendance c/o Howie (5 mins)

14.Other Matters:
